PDHPE Tutor Buttaba, NSW
I think fostering curiosity and confidence are the most important things a tutor can do for a student. Technical knowledge is obviously extremely important, however, I think building solid study foundations is something a student will carry with them for the rest of their lives. As a current university student, I understand the frustration that…

PDHPE Tutor Bonnells Bay, NSW
In order for the relationship between and student and tutor to bloom, the tutor needs to be a good listener, patient, honest, flexible, confident and willing to collaborate. I believe I am capable of all these items, and more. I believe I am patient, and have a creative way of teaching. I am enthusiastic in all aspects of life, and tutoring is no…

EzyMath Tutoring have made it so simple and straightforward in getting help for my daughter who is lacking confidence in maths. I can see a real rapport building with her tutor and she is already feeling so much better about her skills and abilities.

Inside EraringTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 Claudia practiced reading analogue clocks and converting between 12- and 24-hour time, then began adding simple fractions using shaded shape diagrams.

Year 6 Nina focused on multiplying and adding fractions with unlike denominators, and applied the split strategy to solve larger addition equations.

For Year 7 Leonardo, lessons included calculating area and perimeter for rectangles and triangles using formulas, along with an introduction to percentage increase and decrease through practical examples.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 Mathematics, one student often avoided showing working when solving algebraic equations, which made it difficult to identify where sign errors occurred—she skipped showing steps in algebra, which hid sign errors.

In Year 8 English, another student struggled to organise creative writing ideas on paper despite having them verbally, resulting in incomplete drafts and lost marks for structure.

Messy or rushed written work was also noted in a Year 7 Maths workbook; unclear layout sometimes led to missing symbols or misread answers.

Missed homework tasks repeatedly set back progress and required re-teaching of previously covered concepts.

Recent Achievements

One Eraring tutor noticed a big shift in a Year 8 student who had struggled with discount and percentage changes; after targeted practice, she started tackling these problems with more confidence and fewer prompts.

In Year 9 maths, another student who previously hesitated to show her working now writes out each step when converting fractions to decimals—something she avoided before—which has made her solutions much more accurate.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who once guessed times on an analog clock can now independently read even tricky times like 6:47 without needing reassurance.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I came on board as a tutor, when I was looking for a part-time job to support my post-graduate studies. I felt tutoring was a great way to utilise the skills I had in mathematics while working with someone to help improve themselves and develop my own skill set at the same time. It was personal development on multiple levels. The tutoring experience at EzyMath was very unique - because the focus was on helping the student develop learning skills, that could be applied outside of mathematics. This was very appealing to me because I feel it's important to teach skills that enable others to learn themselves. The weekly material provided by EzyMath was extremely thought-provoking and always had a practical application. My biggest accomplishment was definitely becoming friend and mentor to my student. We were able to discuss issues outside of the normal day to day work, and I was able to understand the interests and learning capabilities of my student. This was invaluable to for developing a good working relationship thereby enabling me to structure my lessons with more intent overtime. Overall, I found that working for EzyMath was both challenging and extremely satisfying. I learned a great deal about different types of learning methods, teaching methods and the skills it takes to deal with other people. If you are looking for an engaging experience where you can make a positive contribution to other students, then working at EzyMath is definitely for you! 9th August 2012

Hi everyone. i am a former tutor at Ezy Math Tutoring. I worked as a tutor while enrolled as a student at the University of Wollongong. The selection process for entering the EzyMath Tutoring team was meticulous and involved a written exam as well as an interview. I can honestly say that the recruitment staff at EzyMath Tutoring team takes utmost care to select only the best candidates who have proven record in mathematics. EzyMath Tutoring gave me a wonderful opportunity to coach younger students not only in the subject of Mathematics but also Chemistry, Biology and Physics. The fortnightly Continuous Education Program (CEP) modules helped me become not only a better tutor but also a better student. The modules on self-belief, the different types of learning styles were interesting, intriguing and informative. EzyMath Tutoring has my highest recommendations for prospective tutors as well as prospective clients. 18th August 2012
