I think communication is one of the most crucial skills. I believe every students, somehow, are capable of learning. So even though I don't have extraordinary skills to teach them, they will learn from my explanation. But I have to know where they are at the point of time to know exactly what and how I have to teach. Having an idea of what my…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is help them in any way they can, this does not only apply in an academic sense but also in aspects of the students life (eg. dealing with stress, etc.) I can easily explain harder concepts in simpler terms, making it less intimidating for students when encountering new topics. Furthermore, my…

A good tutor should be able to adapt to each student's learning methodology and tailor the experience to address their weaknesses and hone their strengths. As an outgoing and perceptive person, I can make students feel comfortable around me. This subsequently enables me to assess their skills and help them…

Local Reviews

I think that things are going well- we only had one session so far but Jake seems great and does a great job of explaining things to her. I will definitely comment further once we get a bit further down the line, but happy so far!

Inside FreshwaterTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Morgan worked on long division with remainders and began simplifying fractions, focusing on how improper and proper fractions differ.

In Year 8, Zane practised applying negative indices within algebraic expressions and solved problems involving gradients in linear graphs.

Year 9 student Seth tackled advanced algebra topics such as expanding brackets and equations with variables on both sides, alongside revision of circular geometry using targeted practice questions.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 Maths, one student showed a tendency to skip showing steps in algebra, which hid sign errors—this made it hard to spot where things went wrong and meant repeated mistakes in multi-step problems.

For a Year 8 student, lack of confidence led them to hesitate before answering statistics questions, even when their reasoning was correct; this slowed progress and left answers unchecked.

In Year 5 English, another learner struggled to extract key points from reading tasks—often missing main ideas because smaller details became distracting.

In each case, the underlying process habits interrupted feedback and caused frustration during review.

Recent Achievements

One Freshwater tutor noticed a big shift with a Year 11 student who, after lots of targeted practice, now pinpoints where he goes wrong in chemistry problems and can quickly fix his own mistakes—something he used to avoid tackling independently.

In Year 9 maths, another student has become much faster at answering questions accurately and now volunteers for harder problems without waiting to be prompted, showing real initiative compared to earlier sessions.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who previously hesitated during reading is now extracting key points from stories by herself and happily explains them aloud after finishing each passage.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and Mohammed once again for everything. The standard of tutoring was outstanding and most of all Elise gained from it proving so with her results. Mohammed was a pleasure to have in our home being the polite gentleman he is. Such a credit to you and your company. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ezy Math Tutoring to anyone.

Thought I would drop you an email to let you know Aaron took his first lesson with the boys last night and everything seemed to go very well.  Brook and Lewis both commented on how the learning methods given were helpful and will hopefully put these in place. Thank you and hopefully this will be a turning point in the boys attitude towards this subject.

Mo was a fantastic tutor for my son,Joe.  She was patient and adjusted her her teaching pace according to Joe's needs in the various areas that needed work.  Mo explained everything carefully and made sure Joe fully understood everything without making him feel uncomfortable. Joe and I are so grateful for her help and I will be sure to call on her again if the need arises.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Warringah Mall Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School.
