PDHPE Tutor Waratah, NSW
I think a lot of the more important parts of tutoring is involved in the study technique and supporting students to find the motivation in themselves to study and do the work. Being the person that has got their back. Although of course the specific content they are learning is important as well. In addition a lot of students struggle with…

PDHPE Tutor Wallsend, NSW
I believe a tutor is all about being able to be the middle man between teachers and students. They are able to act in a professional manner but also can individually suit the needs of a specific student. In doing this tutors are able to fill in those missing links and hopefully create a sense of confidence in students that they might otherwise…

Inside HexhamTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Chloe focused on times tables and long division, revisiting key multiplication skills as her class paused formal maths for a dance concert.

For Year 10, Ruby worked through HSC past papers and targeted revision of trigonometry concepts using exam-style questions to build confidence ahead of trials.

Meanwhile, Sebastian in Year 9 tackled quadratic equations from his recent semester exam and began reviewing similarity and probability topics in preparation for an upcoming assessment.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student found that "being conscious of time" during exams led to skipped checks and errors, particularly in longer problems.

In Year 9 algebra, a lack of confidence meant freezing up or second-guessing, so correct strategies weren't always applied—even after grasping the main idea.

Several Year 8 students struggled to recall key formulas from previous lessons, making it harder to progress with new material; as one tutor noted, "she had forgotten what was covered in the last session but was able to recall it."

Meanwhile, some primary students lost focus during multi-step word problems, causing them to miss crucial details needed for accurate answers.

Recent Achievements

One Hexham tutor noticed a big shift in a Year 10 student who previously hesitated to ask for help—she now openly requests clarification when stuck instead of guessing, making her sessions much more productive.

In a senior maths session, Ruby's persistence paid off: after struggling with integration last term, she was able to change equations on her own so they could be integrated, tackling even the trickier problems without prompting.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 student surprised her tutor by recalling all algebra concepts from past weeks and solving four new questions independently.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I would like to say that Justin is a wonderful young man. I know it's only early stages but Arin had a smile on his face that filled my heart. Arin has a lot of respect for Justin, which tells me there is a good connection or understanding developing. Thank you for finding us Justin. In Arin's words ' I have learnt more with Justin in three lessons than with the other tutor we had over the past year'Âť. I think we can say Arin has gotten off to a great start. My only hope is that Justin is also comfortable with us.

Zaliha found the tutoring extremely helpful and Jacob is a wonderful teacher, very intelligent and patient. Zaliha googled your service online and we cannot find fault with the professional service and assistance that Ezy Math Tutoring provides. We would not hesitate to reengage with Ezy Math Tutoring in the future and will highly recommend your service to others. Thanks again for all of your support and a special thank you to Jacob.

Brendan is very happy with Gennady, he is doing a great job at the moment, thank you for sending him, wish he had started earlier with him.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Beresfield Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Tarro Public School.
