Psychology Tutor
Being able to give them the independence of trying a question and then spending a reasonable amount of time trying to solve it rather than only explaining for the full tutoring session. My strength would be pinpointing what the student doesn't understand and using analogies or using patterns from concepts they already understand to portray the…

Local Reviews

We’ve certainly gotten off on a good start. Tatiana asked Nadia to prepare some test prep notes before her test last week which worked a treat. She achieved 97% in her first test. Tatiana is teaching Nadia is strategies to perform under pressure and to prepare well before the test. So we are very happy so far.

Inside Len Waters EstateTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Tabitha reviewed fraction operations and tackled long division for the first time, working through step-by-step examples.

In Year 9, Ava practised calculating percentages without a calculator and interpreted rates and proportions in real-life contexts.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Daniel explored trigonometry by applying sine and cosine rules to non-right angle triangles and revised methods for solving simultaneous equations using worked examples.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Mathematics, one student often chose to "try and solve all the questions in his mind instead of writing it out on his paper," which led to missed steps and made error-checking difficult.

Meanwhile, a Year 9 student's working out was described as "a bit messy and hard for him or potential markers to see," slowing down revision and causing confusion when reviewing solutions.

Another senior student sometimes skipped over feedback about showing full working in algebra, so recurring sign errors went unnoticed during practice exams.

Confidence dips after setbacks were also observed in Year 8 math sessions, leading to hesitation with unfamiliar problems.

Recent Achievements

Tabitha, a Year 7 student, now voices when she's confused and asks for help instead of staying silent—previously she'd hesitate to speak up.

A high school student who had struggled with congruent triangles can now confidently prove them and has even improved the way he lays out his working, showing more organised thinking.

Another senior student recently mastered sketching parabola graphs, including identifying maximum and minimum points after finding these concepts challenging in earlier sessions.

In her last lesson, Tabitha solved long division problems on her own without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Steven has seen great benefit from the tutoring he has received from Robert these past months. His grades and his confidence in Maths has improved tremendously. Thank you so very much for the wonderful service you have provided. Robert is fantastic and Steven worked really well with him and actually would look forward to his Tuesday lessons!

I found my tutoring sessions with Daryl to be very helpful, for the period that I needed him for. Thank you for your service.  It was most definitely appreciated.  Please pass on my regards to Daryl.

We are very happy with both Seth's tutor Robert and his progress! He is actually looking forward to starting up again when school goes back :)

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Green Valley Branch Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Hinchinbrook Public School.
