Ancient History Tutor Mount Nelson, TAS
Ensure they meet there every need and ensure a student is enjoying their learning, because if there not enjoying they won’t do well. Being polite and patient with students is crucial as it may take a while for them to understand but encouraging them and having their back will bring out their confidence and it will show in their results aswell.…

Inside Lenah ValleyTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Cameron worked on recognising adverbs and building simple sentence structure, then wrote a creative piece using newly learned adverbs.

In Year 11 Chemistry, Aimee revised stoichiometry calculations—focusing on mole-mass conversions—and tackled practice exam questions on combustion reactions and specific heat of water.

Charli, in Year 12 Biology, reviewed the adaptive immune system and applied her understanding through targeted multiple choice and short answer questions from recent school assessments.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student's chemistry notes revealed frequent difficulty when complex questions became overwhelming; as the tutor observed, "she overcomplicates problems instead of breaking them down," which led to missed steps and confusion during stoichiometry and equilibrium practice.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student struggled to transfer creative ideas into clear written work—skipping the initial draft phase and hesitating to commit thoughts to paper, making it hard for her to revise or proofread effectively.

In both cases, avoidance of process strategies (breaking tasks down, drafting ideas) resulted in slower progress and increased frustration during revision sessions.

Recent Achievements

Aimee has become much more proactive—she now highlights areas she's unsure about before sessions and asks targeted questions, rather than waiting for prompts.

Charli recently showed initiative by attempting practice questions on new biology topics ahead of time and confidently explained her reasoning during the session.

Meanwhile, Scarlett (Year 7) independently completed research for her biography project and brought insightful facts to shape her draft, a big step up from needing frequent guidance earlier in the year.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Charlie's tutor, Alex, was remarkable with Charlie and I cannot speak highly enough of him. He is doing a lot better in numeracy.

EzyMath tutoring is the ideal way to enter into the highly competitive field of personal tuition. Through their Continuing Education Program and extensive support I was able to greatly expand my capacity to educate students. I would highly recommend Ezymath to both new and more experienced tutors as a way of acquiring new clients, and the professional nature of the company ensures a cohesive match for all parties involved.

I've been working with Ezy Math Tutoring for the best part of 3 years and I can truly say it has been an honour to work with such a supportive and caring group of people. My students and their families have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I was making a difference. Ezy Math always made working with them a breeze, ensuring that my needs and the needs of my students were accommodated for. I have recommended Ezy Math to fellow tutors in the past and shall continue to do so in the future. I would like to thank Ezy Math for all their support over the years and I look forward to many more successful tutoring relationships.

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as State Library of Tasmania—or at your child's school (with permission), like Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School.
