Tyler really engages at the right level with my daughter who is rapidly developing confidence in her maths by the structured, methodical and nurturing manner that Tyler approaches her teaching.

Inside MaddingleyTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Aisha focused on integers by practising addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as identifying squares and square roots.

Year 10 student Daniel revised quadratic equations—finding turning points and intercepts—and explored different forms of quadratics with real-world word problems.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Sarah tackled fuels in Chemistry by comparing fossil fuels to biofuels and balancing thermochemical equations, including calculating heat energy released during combustion reactions.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 Biology student hesitated to answer exam-style questions on immune system processes, often leaving answers blank if unsure. As a tutor noted, "She shies away when answering questions, so need to work on her confidence more." This led to missed opportunities for feedback and deeper understanding.

In Year 9 Maths, one student had not completed assigned homework, resulting in difficulty recalling methods during revision quizzes; she could answer session 1 topics but struggled with session 2 content.

A Year 7 learner preferred doing calculations mentally rather than showing working out—mistakes went unnoticed until asked to explain reasoning aloud.

Recent Achievements

A Maddingley tutor noticed a Year 11 student who had previously hesitated to speak up now actively asking for clarification during biology sessions and completing most pre-session quiz questions correctly, especially around the immune system.

Meanwhile, a Year 9 student showed new initiative by reviewing missed homework independently and arriving at sessions ready with notes on Pythagoras' theorem—something she hadn't done before.

In primary years, one student who struggled with fractions began accurately explaining equivalent fractions and simplification steps out loud, rather than just following along silently.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Jade has been absolutely wonderful with Lucas. He's enjoying his tutoring sessions and sounding more confident about  Maths already. We understand it may take quite a while to see any improvement in his actual marks but there has already been a definite improvement in his attitude towards his capabilities. Lucas is very happy with Jade and we will definitely be continuing the tutoring.

We chose EzyMath Tutoring as that is the subject our daughter  most needed help with, and we decided to pick specialists in this subject over other tutors who seemed to do everything.  Our tutor Emma, was a uni student, very professional, friendly, she worked very well with our daughter.  Emma had lots of great tricks and tips for Madison to use in her studying and test-taking, broke some things down so they didn't seem so scary or overwhelming to our daughter.  Madison was much more confident in math class, homework was easier, she was more confident in taking exams.  It meant a lot to Madison and us, a lot less stress at home when it wasn't my husband or I trying to teach her with all the emotions that tend to go along with that.  I would recommend EzyMath tutoring to anyone looking to improve their math skills.

Thanks for the follow up.  Yes I am very happy with Sean, he has worked with Machlin through some difficult times and nothing has been a problem for Sean.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Lederderg Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Bacchus Marsh College.
