A good tutor, in my opinion, is the one who can make students interested in topics. I believe that people can be excited or exhausted about the same topic depending on the tutor's teaching attitude. If a physics tutor is successful in making students interested in their courses, students can then be more likely to be hard-working and successful. I…

We must have to guide them and emphasize the importance of the topic by giving them a real life examples and illustrations. I think in that way they will find the subject more interesting. What I can consider as my…

I think the best thing a physics tutor can do is help the student to complete their learning cycle. So the student can continue doing it by themselves. The idea is to be a temporary guide in their academic journey that they need support. 1. Strong background in Maths. 2. Patience 3. I like to listen and motivate students to do their best. 4.…

Inside MorningsideTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 10 student Rebecca focused on long division of polynomials and applications of derivatives to functions.

In Year 11, Daniel worked through solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula and revisited area properties for right-angled triangles.

For Year 12, Michael concentrated on bivariate data analysis and time series analysis, including calculating moving averages, as part of his exam preparation.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Maths Methods, a student who transitioned from General Maths struggled to attempt questions independently; as one tutor noted, "she needed more guidance than expected with exam-style problems."

In another senior case, feedback provided on a PSMT draft was not fully addressed before final submission, meaning missed opportunities for improvement.

Meanwhile, in Year 8, messy written work during linear equations tasks made it hard to spot errors and slowed revision.

In primary years, unfinished homework remained an ongoing issue—especially with assigned worksheets—which meant less class time could be devoted to new concepts.

Recent Achievements

One Morningside tutor noticed Dyllan, a high school student, has started to tackle long division of polynomials independently after needing significant prompting in earlier sessions—he now checks his own work by expanding brackets without reminders.

Meanwhile, Phoenix, also in high school, made real strides using Excel for statistical analysis; he not only created scatter plots and regression lines but began interpreting relationships between variables on his own.

At the primary level, Mikayla shifted from waiting passively for help to actively asking questions when stuck during homework—something she hadn't done before this term.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We have had a few lessons with Deanna and She seems to be very enthusiastic and keen to teach Catherine.

Steven has been a wonderful and patient tutor and has really helped Thomas with his confidence in Mathematics and we have been grateful for his assistance during this time. We have been impressed by both the tutor and Ezy Maths Tutoring Company for the personalised service and would not hesitate to contact you in the near future should we need assistance with any tutoring next year.

So far so good. Scott has been great. He is exceptionally patient and really flexible at fitting in with our timetable.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Bulimba Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Morningside State School.
