One of the most important things would be the environment the tutor and student are in. The more comfortable but slightly stressed-out the students are, the more productive the tutoring session would be. Another essential aspect of tutoring would be the ability for the tutor to deeply understand the concept themselves in order for them to simplify…
Working alongside with the students to establish clear goals and expectations. Offering constructive feedback to students to ensure where improvement is required. Promoting active engagement is essential for students to have more beneficial lessons whereby students can have better retention with engaging lessons. I have great patience and I allow…
The most important thing as a tutor is to help students connect to what they are learning. It is the job of the tutor to differentiate instruction based on the learning preferences of the students. Further, a tutor reinforces what the students have been learning at school. I am a teacher with 15 years of teaching experience. My last school was…
A tutor has to be understanding and respectful to the student that they are teaching, they need to realise that these individuals don't have the same level of knowledge as them at the time, so they need time to learn and understand difficult concepts and that require more explanation. The key is to build a strong healthy and friendly relationship…
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to make them enjoy the subject because they will make them want to work harder in it and achieve higher. My strengths as a tutor is that I am a recent graduate and I am therefore very familiar with the syllabus and could also build a friendship with the…
The most important things a tutor can do for a student include:
- Assist them in solving the problem not just solving it for them
- Be helpful as well as responsible to the student's well being and performance
- Help student to reduce student's stress and motivate them if possible
- Assist student in self-learning skill
- Help student to…
A tutor or at least a teacher is someone who can give students a helping hand, perhaps a friend is too informal but someone they can relate to. I think being able to understand your student and what makes them improve or how they can improve is also essential as a tutor and a teacher. It is useless to spoon feed facts and knowledge to a student if…
Finding out where the student can improve in his/her current learning, making differentiated learning plans, and teaching students what to learn and how to learn. Very patient. Good communication skills. Strong commitment to teaching ( teaching is my career). Able to think deeply to find out difficulties or challenges in students' current…
Build their confidence and prepare them before an exam. This personally was the most important thing for me prior to every exam as I would always enter panicked and feeling nauseous. After being tutored, I feel this is one of the most necessary and significant thing a tutor can do for a student. I am very patient and can attempt to explain a…
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is be supportive. All behaviour is belief driven, if a tutor convinces a pupil that he can do it, he will. I believe I am calm, patient, persevering, and supportive. Especially when it comes to perseverance, I will not be deterred if a student doesn't originally understand my explanations as, if I…
I consider the most important things a tutor can do for a student is helping them improve in areas they may be struggling in, as well as helping them further in other areas. My strengths come from the fact that I have been doing maths tutoring for school students weekly for over a year, giving me experience in providing students confidence in the…
Be patient with them. They do not have the same experience that we have so it might be difficult for them to grasp or even explain what they don't understand but they will eventually be able to gain an understanding of it when you try explaining it to them from a different perspective - Patient
- Flexible in teaching styles and explains concepts…
Not only teach them the subjects but also influence their futures which is very important in their growing age as they will need to overcome many obstacles with high school around the corner they will go through many phases in their life that may need guidance as I once had. I am very empathetic towards all who take tutoring as it can be quite…
To let the student analyze his/her strengths and weaknesses.Every Tutor does tutoring but what should be more important to anyone in this field of education is that after leaving the student he must be able to explain that same subject to his fellow students. Friendly and understanding.Does not give up unless and until a student understands the…
In my view-point a tutor can highlight the problems of students and demosntrate other suitable methods to solve their issues and broaden their perspective. My goal is to determine the student's weakness and strengths, and through this help them reach their goal. Depending on the students, I will differentiate instructions to support the distinctive…
I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to have the ability to cater to their needs and build self esteem, especially when one method of learning isn’t working. This not only allows for the student to understand concepts in other ways
but also ensures and improves self esteem as often, students may fall behind from a…

They perform the role of the student's individual tutor. Tutoring will help the student develop specific problem-solving skills while also preparing them for tests and exams. Working with a tutor will dramatically enhance students' grades and comprehension of the topic. The student will start to like learning. Communication, listening, teamwork,…
I believe that tutors need to be:
1. Honest as this helps to establish rapport and trust
2. Flexible as this means being willing to adjust techniques and approaches to meet the learning styles of the students
3. Be patient as learn not to show annoyance in your speech or body language
4. Be good listener as learn to pick up clues in your…
The most important thing to a tutor can do is to give confidence to your students that they are well prepared for all kinds of problems (Mathematics Problems). I, as a tutor, always think as a student so that I can understand them and help them better. I believe I have a unique approach to teaching kids. My strong points would be my empathy, my…
Empathy is the key here .. some students are outstanding and some are extraordinary .. we need to understand them with their level of understanding and feed them with what they would require to blossom. Makes problems easier for them to understand
Simple and easy methods to follow
Make them Understand the things required to excel
I ensure…
Alex, he helped Matt enormously. Not only the actual helping him understand how to tackle some questions but I feel Matt gained confidence going into the exams feeling like there were now no areas he had a poor knowledge of . He was particularly happy with his 2nd maths exam but in both cases he said there questions he would not have been able to answer without Alex's help.
Miah seems to be responding well to her tutoring sessions with Alex.
She is feeling less conscious about her problems with maths - which is great.
Thanks for following up. Daniel has been fantastic and we appreciate his diligence.
