To help the student form a routine and improve performance in the school. Teaching the skill of learning and eventually working towards independence is very important to me. When a student develops inner strength to learn, half of the work is done. Specially in Maths i like to analyze any gaps and help the student to bridge these gaps first. To…

I consider the time and space a tutor gives to the student the most important thing. It is all about what they, as the student, are comfortable with. However, this does not stop another important aspect; pushing a student through their limits in order to achieve their goals. These are the most important things a tutor can do for a student. I…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student are as follows: -create a learning environment that is supportive, where making mistakes is encouraged as it’s the only way to improve. -make learning something fun and rewarding not just another arduous task that has to be done. -boost self confidence by showing the student that they can…

Treating each student as an individual, not one method of study or plan can be copied and pasted onto every person. Understanding whether somebody is an auditory, visual or kinesthetic learner is so important to know when preparing learning materials and when tutoring students. Further, taking the time to understand the marking keys and…

I believe being calm and understanding of the student and their individual circumstances is a very important aspect when tutoring. Further, having an adequate understanding of what the student is trying to achieve and what areas they would like to focus on would be very important, along with knowing what methods of learning work for them. Finally,…

A good tutor not only helps students understand the material but also instils confidence, motivation, and a lifelong love for learning. Ultimately, my goal is to empower students to become independent thinkers and problem-solvers, equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed both academically and beyond. I really appreciate the…

The most important things a tutor can do is put their students first and be passionate about what they teach. This is important because if a tutor puts their students first, they will pay attention to the students needs, weaknesses, strengths and therefore be able to tutor the student in a way that satisfies their strengths and weaknesses and…

First of all, the most important thing I believe a tutor can do for a student is be a good communicator and negotiator with a student - Through these two skills, the student and tutor can get on the same page regarding areas that require improvement and how to improve these. Next, I believe a tutor can help the student through explaining…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is to make the student more confident in themselves which motivates them in their studies so they succeed. I have seen in a personal level how badly confidence can affect someone in their studies. You start doubting yourself and think you are horrible at a subject. This leads to the person to not…

Local Reviews

Inside North BeachTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Paige worked through converting fractions to decimals and percentages, and practiced multiplying numbers with decimals for improved calculation accuracy.

For Year 9, Benji focused on finding equations of linear graphs and explored the relationship between parallel and perpendicular lines using coordinate geometry examples.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Ella tackled compound interest problems with multiple compounding periods, then reviewed surds basics to reinforce algebraic manipulation skills.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student repeatedly did not complete set homework and struggled with identifying midpoints and non-linear correlations in coordinate geometry, leading to missed opportunities for targeted practice.

In Year 10, messy written work—especially skipping the step-by-step layout of equations—meant sign errors in algebra went unnoticed until reviewing answers ("doesn't write down the equations and doesn't understand the equations fully").

For a Year 6 learner, worded problems caused hesitation; when confused, they guessed instead of showing working, making it hard to spot misunderstandings.

During a senior session on tree diagrams (Year 12), confusion about wording led to mistakes on test questions that remained uncorrected without timely revision.

Recent Achievements

A North Beach tutoring session saw one high school student, initially anxious about compound interest, become noticeably more at ease—by the end he could clearly explain both interests without prompting.

Another secondary student who previously hesitated to tackle complex trigonometry questions began independently identifying SOH CAH TOA and solved problems with much less guidance than before.

Meanwhile, a primary student who usually waited for every instruction started finishing her homework independently almost entirely during the lesson, even expressing delight at how much she accomplished in that time.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We are incredibly impressed with our tutor, Serena.  She is a gifted and most dedicated teacher.  Her ability to extend our daughter has been remarkable and we are thrilled to have her continue with Miki.  Thanks for a wonderful program.

Thankyou to Ezymath tutoring for building up the confidence my daughter needed in preparation for high school this year. During year 7 she was falling behind and her self confidence was waning, causing her to panic about high school but in the few short months she received one on one tutoring at home, her confidence grew and she learnt how to tackle new problems and ask for extra help when needed. Having the extra help, in the comfort of our own home was a winning combination. She is now more confident about what this year holds for her and is looking forward to new challenges, knowing she is better equipped to handle them. If needed down the track, we won't hesitate to start up more tutoring sessions again.

I found Ezy Math's tutoring excellent. I would highly recommend it. They managed to find a tutor whose teaching style was perfect for my daughter. They related to each other and my daughter's ability in maths increased exponentially. I was very happy with them.
