The most important things a tutor can do for a student are to form strong relationships with them by getting to know them more personally, supporting the students through both academic success and struggles, and both knowing the students and understanding their mood or concerns. Stuart and Ben seem to have hit it off straight away and my son was very happy with his first lesson. It is still early days to really make a comment but Stuart seems like a very smart, helpful, pleasant young man and they both seem to share an interest in soccer.

Inside North NowraTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Sam worked on area calculations for composite shapes and applied basic trigonometry to solve real-world measurement problems.

For Year 10, Emily focused on graphing linear equations and tackled simultaneous equations, using visual aids to reinforce concepts.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Josh reviewed trigonometric equations and explored the ambiguous case of the sine rule through guided practice with exam-style questions.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student was often reliant on memorising formulas rather than understanding them in algebra and ratios—"he tended to apply rules without grasping the 'why'," as one tutor noted. This meant real-world questions or multi-step rearrangements left him unsure where to start, slowing progress.

In a Year 12 context, another student's working out became difficult to follow in trigonometry and networks: solutions were written without clear step-by-step formatting, making errors hard to spot and check under exam conditions.

Homework for critical path diagrams was sometimes incomplete, so feedback couldn't be fully applied before moving forward.

Recent Achievements

A North Nowra tutor noticed Andrea is now pinpointing her own exam mistakes and choosing better problem-solving strategies on her own—last session she recognised where her working went wrong and explained why another approach was needed.

In Year 10, Laaibah has started showing more independence by completing compound interest and credit card questions without needing prompts, a big shift from previously waiting for step-by-step help.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 student has begun writing out full working for ratio problems instead of just guessing answers—something she'd avoided before.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Very happy with John.  Would like Jackson to have more lessons with him but can't get Jackson to agree to it as yet!  Working on him.  May ask John to help out with science and possibly English as well in the future if he has time.

Ezy maths tutoring was just what we were after for Zena. We tried a couple of other tutoring companies before ezy maths tutoring but one we had to travel to to get there and the other offered us a young and inexperienced tutor, tutoring is more than knowing about the subject it is being able to teach it. Ezy maths tutoring offered us with everything we were looking for, reasonable pricing, at home tutoring and of course an excellent tutor. We found 'Tara' to be patient and understanding and Zena went from a D to getting B's and C's. We were very happy, thanks to Tara and ezy maths tutoring.

I decided to look for work as a tutor as I had time to spare and "fresh" knowledge that I thought I could share with students who wanted to do better. After being hired by two companies simultaneously, one being Ezy Math Tutoring, I would only have time to work for one of them. The decision to chose this company was easy as Ezy Math Tutoring provided greater support for its tutors. This included better pay, feedback, education on how to become a great tutor and a friendly group of people who were there to contact if I had any queries or if I needed help. The best thing about being a tutor was that I was able to dramatically improve the clients and their child's outlook on their education within a few weeks just by being there and providing a familiar face that knew how to help. I would definitely recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to any aspiring tutors and I thank them for the privilege of working as a tutor for the business.

Maths tutoring in North Nowra

Struggling academically while seeing others succeed can feel disheartening. It may seem as though "successful students" have it easy, as if solutions just pop into their head. Seeing the cycle of success cycling round and round for others can seem like natural talent. Geniuses do exist but most successful students are just normal people who have somehow learned how to succeed academically.

Good news! Success leaves clues. These students tend to be prepared, to do their homework & regular revision. They focus on comprehension not on memorization. Most importantly they have growth mindset not a fixed mindset - failures are an opportunity for growth not proof of inadequacy.

Whatever your goals, the right attitude and the right study habits will help. A good tutor can do much more than just teach the content. They can help your child learn to be a better student, to develop a growth mindset and establish their own cycle of success. When you use Ezy Math to find a tutor this is what you're getting.

A local maths tutor in North Nowra will come to your home at a time convenient to you, just tell us when. Your first lesson works as a risk-free trial, if you don't like it, don't pay. No booking fees or contracts, no nonsense, just tutoring.
