Physics Tutor Banora Point, NSW
Not just tutor them, but be a friend. By opening up and developing a closer bond to students, the students feel more comfortable and it doesn't become a tutoring session, but just a study session. I went through the course(s) myself quite recently, so I understand what's expected on the students, and what they need to do to excel and not only get…

Luke has been brilliant. Great help and was able to challenge, expand and build on the work that our daughter was doing. Thank you Luke.

Inside North TumbulgumTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Jeremy focused on Pythagoras' theorem and trigonometry problems, along with measurement and geometry revision for his upcoming semester exam.

Year 8 student Willow worked through simplifying, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions, as well as converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions using practice worksheets.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Will reviewed multiplication and division of negative numbers with BODMAS rules and completed work on coordinates and reflecting shapes on the Cartesian plane in preparation for an assessment.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student preparing for exams struggled with organization—"I tried to prepare for the basics in all the year 12 curriculum that I wasn't prepared for the in-depth exam questions." This led to feeling underprepared when faced with harder tasks.

In Year 9, one student's algebra work was often hard to follow due to skipped steps; as a tutor noted, "he skipped showing steps in algebra, which hid sign errors," resulting in confusion during review.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student was unable to complete area calculations because she forgot to bring paper—small lapses like this can disrupt lesson flow and learning momentum.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in North Tumbulgum recently noticed Jeremy, a Year 10 student, now tackles trigonometry and algebra questions with much more independence—he used to wait for step-by-step help but is starting problems solo and only checks in after trying himself.

Willow, in Year 8, previously hesitated with fractions but now confidently converts them between forms and completed a whole worksheet independently from the grade syllabus.

In primary, Bella has shifted from rushing through her writing to actively proofreading her paragraphs for grammar mistakes; she even asked for extra homework on this skill last week.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I'm very pleased with Carly at this stage Nerys' attitude towards Math has changed already and that's extremely positive.  Carly is always there on time and stays the full hour, she also communicates effectively about any schedule changes. So far so good.

Thank you for your email. Based on the sessions held to date with Ai-linh, Nathan is really enjoying her teaching style. From my perspective she is really sweet and is always punctual and consistent which has really maximised Nathan's learning and our ability to plan for effectively. Thank you for arranging for Ai-linh to assist Nathan.

I personally feel that my biggest accomplishment was becoming a more confident individual with strong leadership. This is as I was a mentor to my students whom all looked up to me and I felt more mature and responsible in helping them deal with their academic difficulties. Furthermore, Tutoring also helped me in organisation and time management in allocating tutoring timeslots as well as homework marking into my daily lifestyle. This is truly reflected in my full-time career now where I am able to handle multiple tasks and commitments very effectively. I had been previously been tutoring privately and felt it would be beneficial for me to tutor for an agency in order to attain professional recognition for my resume and future. During my interview process, my tutoring experience definitely weighed into me attaining a graduate role. The main reason I tutor and have been tutoring for such a long time now is the self-satisfaction I get back from helping others. I love relaying knowledge to others who are willing to learn and feel emotionally rewarded when it helps my students academically excel. I would recommend Ezy Math to everyone (tutors and potential clients) as they're very easy to deal with and educate their tutors with ongoing modules as well as provide supplementary materials to their clients.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Murwillumbah Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Tumbulgum Public School.
