Gain confidence of the students, use creative ways to make a child understand hard topics, Keep track of progress and make sure they have no doubts and are confident in attempting the questions. Other than helping the student achieve their personal goals, It's also important to ensure that they develop a love for learning and instill a sense of discipline and responsibility. Everybody learns differently and I feel that I am able to understand and adapt my teaching style to better suit the students needs rather than force them to adapt to…
“If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.†A tutor must not just allow a student to improve whilst with the tutor, but teach them to learn and improve anytime they study without one. Teaching a student to approach challenges, and to develop the habit of using their mistakes as…

The most important thing a physics tutor can do for a student is lead them to an open door we have previously crossed from our past experience so they have the ability to enter with their own confidence and hopefully pass on that knowledge to future generations. I think the most important thing for a physics tutor is to understand what the student needs and work through those blocks with positive reinforcement. Some students have a hard time understanding concepts while others have no faith in themselves and struggle to retain information. I believe that the best thing a tutor can do for a student is to…
Firstly, talking aloud helps to understand the way we think. Moreover, transferring skills would be really important thing a physics tutor can do for the students. Having PhD in an engineering field, I have passed all these courses and lessons. Additionally, I have taught Mathematics and Physics for about 10…

You can inspire a student and make him independent. The goal of a teacher (ironically) is to make himself redundant. Being able to develop self-learning skills and teaching oneself by asking right questions is the key process of learning. Eventually, you can master the art of learning itself and you don't need a teacher. I can be very friendly and…
Motivating and building confidence in students can cause stress and fear to be vanished, along with satisfaction of being on the right track for a student is a vital key that can allow them to grow and build upon. Working hard as a tutor consists of many skills such as encouragement, honesty, time punctual, well disciplined, and…
To be attentive and to address the students personal needs for growth. The tutor should set an ideal example in terms of behaviour motivation and actions- one which a student should be able to look up to but also resonate with. This allows him to engage with the student at a personal level and provide better more relatable academic support, but…

I believe that the most important thing tutors can do for a student is to establish a resilient mindset in students. A student needs to understand that they are always capable of achieving their goals and to not give up. As a physics tutor, I can enforce this method of thought in students and bring about positive attitudes towards learning. My…
I believe that since every student is different in the way they think and learn, it is important for a physics tutor to establish a connection and relationship with their students so the tutor can better understand the students habits. This would allow the tutor to better tailor their lessons towards the student so they learn and understand…
One of the most important things I can do for a student is to create a positive learning environment, which ensures they feel comfortable to ask questions and take the time that they need to properly understand a topic. I meet students where they are at with their understanding and explain topics in a way that best suits their learning style, with…
The best a physics tutor can do for his students is:

Be able to develop a friendly yet professional rapport with their student that effectively creates a comfortable environment for the student to ensure that they maintain focus in the classroom and are able to communicate their concerns to the tutor. Help them Achieve good grades.
Help them learn good habits to help them in the future.
Set the level of expectations for them to achieve in the future.
Help them understand their potential. I persist until my student understands the concept fully.
Since I have done engineering, I believe I would be able to give my students an understanding of…
I believe the most important thing a physics tutor can do is to connect with their students and find the best teaching method for each student. Otherwise, the student is not getting 100% out of the lesson and will not understand the subject to his or her full ability. I believe that my biggest strength as a tutor is that I am able to connect with…
In primary, tutoring often targets core arithmetic—addition, subtraction, times tables, fractions, and building number sense—while also pushing for deeper comprehension, not just rote rules. High school sessions shift to algebraic thinking, graphing, interpreting questions, and developing strong exam strategies. There’s a big emphasis on breaking down word problems, revisiting tricky homework, and test prep for NAPLAN or semester exams, always tailored to what each student finds hardest right now.
Recent Challenges
Some primary students rush through comprehension or maths tasks without fully reading instructions, leading to incomplete or off-target answers. In high school, it’s common for students to have scattered or unclear working, which makes multi-step problems harder to check and fix. Other frequent hurdles include forgetting materials, leaving homework unfinished, or spending revision time catching up on missed basics instead of moving forward—all of which can hold back progress and lead to confusion.
Recent Achievements
Tutors are noticing students becoming more proactive during lessons—regularly checking their own work, spotting errors, and making corrections without being asked. There’s a clear shift toward students verbalising their steps in maths and explaining their reasoning aloud, rather than rushing through problems. Tutors also report that learners are reviewing their test results with more care and taking the initiative to improve, showing greater confidence and ownership of their progress.
What they say about our tutoring
All is good Athena really likes Fatemeh, and is enjoying the tutoring.
Best regards
Matthew has been extremely happy with the tutoring Hannah has provided, and received an A on his most recent Maths test this week. Hannah is always very punctual and explains things very clearly to Matthew, and in particular has encouraged him to show his working out, which contributed toward him receiving more marks on his recent test than he would have otherwise received.
Matthew has already asked if Hannah can continue to tutor him next year!
Rebecca is extremely happy with Diana. She is truly amazing and the first session was a great success with understanding and common ground. Very happy.
