Physics Tutor
The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is to engage the student in a way which makes them want to keep learning that specific subject if not fall in love with it. At the end of the day motivation must come from the student themself and as a tutor I believe it is my job to help the student find that motivation. I believe my…

Local Reviews

We joined this month as my teenage daughter needed some confidence building as trying in Maths but needs support with specfic concepts. My daughter has been matched with a fabulous and very reliable university student. Since my first query Ezy Maths has been fantastic at communicating and listening as we feel our feedback is valued. As we always asked and given opportunities to voice our thoughts and general progress in regard to the tutoring process. Totally happy and can only say Ezy Maths makes the tutoring process Ezy :) regards Carmen

Inside RasmussenTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Sophia worked through simplifying index laws and integers, along with calculating the order of operations and evaluating decimals using her recent school test.

For Year 9, Eve focused on trigonometry questions from a past exam, including applying similarity and congruence concepts and breaking down complex unfamiliar problems step-by-step.

Meanwhile, Year 5 student Alex practised converting decimals to fractions and basic division skills for improved number fluency.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student struggled to explain why one trigonometric value is greater than another, rather than just stating the answer; as a tutor noted, "she couldn't say why cos 55° > cos 65°."

In Year 8 science, there was difficulty writing arguments up to a scientific standard for risk assessments, which led to incomplete responses.

A senior student could not locate the most updated version of an assessment during discussion—this slowed progress and left gaps in planning.

Missed or incomplete homework appeared several times (e.g., Years 7 and 9 maths), causing students to fall behind on foundational skills and revision.

Recent Achievements

A Rasmussen tutor recently noticed Jacinta, a Year 11 student, come to her English session already armed with a full draft of her essay and detailed feedback from her teacher—something she hadn't done before.

In maths, Lauren (Year 9) started actively asking questions when unsure, instead of staying quiet as in previous lessons; she also tackled Pythagorean theorem problems independently by the end of the session.

For Year 6, Sophia moved from needing help on division every step to solving most problems solo and finishing all her homework without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Everything is going well so far. The tutoring has been working well. Jamie seems to connect with Kevin. We are away next week but hopefully I can keep the momentum up with Jamie!

I have been extremely pleased with our ezymath tutor, Lawrence.  Apparently "he knows everything about maths".  He has worked diligently and patiently with my daughter and has managed to keep her focused throughout each lesson.  I also found the reports he provided about her progress detailed and considered and very helpful in providing feedback about her strengths, gaps and progress. I found ezymath tutoring very professional and easy to deal with.  There were no contracts, which makes it very flexible, the price was reasonable and the tutor came to our house. They provided a tutor who was current with the HSC curriculum and very knowledgeable about his subject.   The feedback reports that were provided at the end of each term were very detailed about all areas of the learning - both the positive and the areas she needed to work on. I would definitely recommend ezymath tutoring to other parents - it has been a very positive experience....

Bethan, gets on really well with Sydney. Sydney is enjoying her lessons and she is already getting a better understanding of her maths.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Citylibraries Riverway—or at your child's school (with permission), like Good Shepherd Catholic School.
