I believe that every individual learns things in different ways. In a classroom, each teacher will have their own way of presenting and teaching the content, and this method is most likely to be consistent throughout the year. Local Reviews

Armaan is a fantastic tutor and my son saw results after just one session. He takes the time to ensure his student fully understands what he is saying and is always prepared well in advance of his sessions with a comprehensive workplan. Armaan is patient, a great communicator, punctual and very respectful. Highly recommend.

Inside RochedaleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Hannah practised converting improper fractions to proper fractions and worked on finding a fraction of a number using visual models.

Year 8 student Ryan focused on solving linear equations and interpreting Cartesian planes, including plotting points on coordinate grids.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Chloe reviewed trigonometry concepts—specifically Pythagoras' theorem and similar triangles—using diagrams to reinforce understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student hesitated to ask for help or use assignment scaffolds, instead waiting for step-by-step instructions—"he often waited for me to tell him what goes in each section"—which left him uncertain and slowed progress.

Meanwhile, a Year 9 learner relied heavily on memorising past questions rather than applying the discussed rules when facing new fraction problems, making it hard to adapt to unfamiliar wording.

In Year 4, missed multiplication homework has become routine over five weeks; this forgetfulness is causing basic skills like times tables to slip.

Moments of distraction during class sometimes led to answers being written in the wrong boxes despite correct working out.

Recent Achievements

One Rochedale tutor recently noticed a big shift in Ben, a Year 11 student, who now asks targeted questions when unsure—something he rarely did before—and was able to collect relevant data and identify assumptions for his maths assignment without prompting.

Meanwhile, Sas in Year 7 tackled harder worded problems independently on rounding decimals after initially needing help with basic concepts last year.

In a primary session, Orla, who used to be reluctant about new topics, was excited to learn about capacity and confidently completed her worksheets on her own.

What they say about our tutoring

Pippa is very happy with Dexter. Her tutoring style is very effective and Pippa had excellent results in her mid-year exams.

Sam's first session with Wahidah went really well. He really liked her and responded well to her teaching.
