Legal Studies Tutor Cremorne, NSW
I value creating "WOW" moments for students. As stated previously, I find it extremely satisfying to witness that 'lightbulb' moment when students finally understand a hard area of the syllabus or how to answer a difficult question. I also think it is important that tutors stretch and challenge their students. This can be achieved by getting…

As previously mentioned making a safe space for the student as they may feel uncomfortable asking questions within a classroom. This allows them to get the most of their learning and actually understand the content to reach their full potential. I try to personalise tutoring sessions and make it a completely safe space where the student feels…

Legal Studies Tutor Macquarie Park, NSW
The most important thing a tutor can do for his or her student is to be patient. Often tutors can cover content or explain concepts very quickly in an attempt to meet time constraints but this will not be beneficial for the student as they will not understand or learn thoroughly. It is important for tutors to take time to patiently and logically…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is give explicit praise when there is improvement and progress, and stay calm and methodical when improvement and guidance is needed. My strengths are definitely communication and interpersonal skills, adding an element of trust, comfort and engagement compared to a more robotic tutor. I have…

Legal Studies Tutor Kurraba Point, NSW
Helping students build confidence is arguably the most important and beneficial thing a tutor can do. I firmly believe that confidence is the building block of success, and that, by bringing it out of a student, a tutor can unlock the student's full potential, and empower them to expand their skills and capabilities. Volunteering as an instructor…

Legal Studies Tutor Turramurra, NSW
As a passionate tutor, the responsibility to create confidence and trust is vital in learning. Confidence allows students to tackle difficult and complex problems, serving as a 'stepping stone' to build a mathematical foundation. It can also act as an incentive for students to engage in lessons comprised of challenges. Furthermore, building trust…

I think one of the most important traits a tutor needs is patience. It is not helpful to make the student feel stupid or inadequate and of course each student is unique and learns at a different pace. Patience is pivotal to make the student feel like it is a safe space to ask questions, be willing to rephrase concepts until they understand and…

I believe a tutor can offer a student so much more that just knowledge; the encouragement of a tutor can unlock a student’s potential and lead them towards consistent success. Tutoring sessions can make a student feel heard and understood which is so important in a student’s journey through self discovery in their schooling years. As a tutor,…

I believe the most important aspect is taking the time to understand what students are struggling with and helping them enjoy the process of learning and seeking feedback, rather than fearing it. I tailor my lessons to align with each student's interests and enjoy teaching in an engaging and enjoyable manner. I believe this approach provides…

Legal Studies Tutor Wahroonga, NSW
A step by step technique. It is important that the student is shown the correct way to solve a problem as the student might not have understood the basics of the lesson. When teaching the student, it is important to go through the lesson and make sure the student understands the lesson before commencing with the assignment. It is out job to…

I believe that it is the tutor's job to make clear topics and concepts that are unclear to students and help them understand how to effectively answer questions under exam conditions. My overall friendly demeanour, my communication skills, I am clear and concise in explaining things. I am knowledgeable in the subject areas that I can tutor, and I…

Inside Roseville ChaseTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student James worked on money calculations and fractions, as well as strengthening his skills with multiplication and division using everyday examples.

In Year 8, Trai practised plotting linear equations and revising key algebraic techniques, also converting between fractions, decimals, and percentages to support his exam preparation.

For Year 9, Aja focused on trigonometry problems including angles of depression and elevation, alongside factorising quadratic expressions through targeted practice questions.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9 algebra, a student did not write down his working, leading to frequent errors that were hard to trace and correct.

During a Year 12 assignment, another student delayed drafting Parts A and B, making it difficult to start later sections on time.

In Year 6, incomplete homework meant less opportunity to review rounding decimals before the next lesson.

One Year 11 student only revised familiar surd questions and avoided unfamiliar formats; this limited exposure left her struggling with variety in tests.

After missing steps in a trigonometry proof (Year 10), confidence dipped noticeably during timed practice.

Recent Achievements

In Year 4, James was initially unsure about placing fractions on a number line, but by the end of the session he confidently ordered fractions like 1/4 and 1/3 without prompting.

For a high school student, Aja had struggled with bearings questions before her test; after targeted practice last week, she managed to answer those problems accurately during her assessment.

Another older student began hesitating to solve for x independently, but finished the lesson able to perform each step on his own for the first time.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We are very happy with the way things have started with Todd. India is finding her sessions very helpful and Todd is very patient and constructive.

Our tutor Adrian was excellent for my daughter to help "fill the gaps" prior to starting high school this year. Adrian made maths fun, was personable and professional. Ezy Maths provided excellent service & communication .

Mathew and Phi are working well together. Phi is a lovely young man, very polite and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Phi as he is building a good connection with Matthew and has been very patient, repeating his instructions and challenging Mathew to think about what he is doing.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Castle Cove Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Castle Cove Public School.
