Students should feel confident that they can come to me with any doubts without fear of being judged. At the same time, I set clear boundaries so that during class time, we stay focused on learning without distractions from…

I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to make sure to be consistent. Life does get busy and overwhelming at times, but keeping a consistent tutoring cycle wether that's weekly or fortnightly helps the student immensely. I also believe that when you see a student needs extra time or extra help, making sure to…

Inside ScheyvilleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Jessica explored breaking numbers into tens and ones, practiced addition and subtraction strategies, and worked on reading fluency with longer passages.

For Year 11, Michael focused on business studies topics including how to write a business report and the strategic role of marketing, using real-world examples to reinforce understanding.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Chloe completed revision for HSC Business Studies, covering marketing philosophies such as societal marketing approaches and relationship marketing, along with examining factors influencing customer choice like psychological and sociocultural influences.

Recent Challenges

Repeated avoidance of consistent note review and exam practice in Year 11 Business Studies led to "bottlenecking due to work overload closer to trials," making revision overwhelming rather than routine.

In Year 8 English, messy grammar—including missing apostrophes and colons—and reluctance to show working in Maths made feedback hard to act on; a tutor noted, "He needs improvement on placing apostrophes...and writing out his working for Maths."

A Year 5 student's spelling errors and skipped capitals slowed progress in written tasks, leaving her unsure where she'd gone wrong.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Scheyville noted a big shift for a Year 11 student who, after previously struggling to structure responses under pressure, managed to accurately answer HSC past paper questions and handled multiple choice with much greater precision.

Another high schooler, who had found it hard to independently plan her study, is now taking the initiative—mapping out revision time and proactively identifying gaps before exams.

Meanwhile, a Year 3 student who was hesitant about reading aloud began sounding out difficult words by breaking them into chunks and now reads full sentences with little prompting.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Hawkesbury Central Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Oakville Public School.
