What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have never formally tutored before, but would love to be able to help high schoolers not only improve their grades, but also help them feel more confident. I enjoy talking about school (engaging in discussions about work) and teaching/learning content. I also really enjoy human interactions which i believe could help in making a good tutor
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have received many academic awards throughout my high school career, including awards in math and science. In year 12 i received my schools award for both human biology and physics, and scored about 80 percent in every mathematics applications test in year 12 (lowest test scoring being 82 percent and highest being 98 percent).
I have performed well in math and science since year 7 and believe this to be a strength when tutoring others. I received physics tutoring myself in year 12 and think being on the other side of the student tutor interaction will act as a strength of mine.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is be supportive and make the student feel capable of the task at hand. The tutor should not only help the student understand the content better but also make the student feel more confident about themselves and their work. The tutor/tutoring process should also provide the students with skills to be able to approach new topics/ideas more easily, before those topics have even been covered in turning lessons. The tutoring process should help students improve their knowledge and confidence about topics and school.
