What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As a life-long student myself, what I love most about tutoring is the chance to be part of someone else's learning journey. There's this incredible satisfaction in seeing the light bulb moment when a tricky concept suddenly makes sense for a student, and you can see the boost in their confidence. I really enjoy the process of breaking down complex topics into smaller, more digestible pieces, adapting my approach to match each student's unique learning style.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
In reflecting on my strengths as a tutor, given my practical teaching experience in my previous full time-role as an engineer, I believe my adaptability and ability to tailor my teaching approach to the unique learning styles of individual students stand out. I understand that everyone absorbs information differently, so I strive to create a personalized and supportive learning environment. My strong communication skills also contribute to my effectiveness as a tutor. I can convey complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner, fostering better understanding.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
As a recent graduate from Monash's FIT, I can reflect on this. The most important things a tutor can do for a student involve creating a supportive environment, adapting teaching methods to individual needs, providing constructive feedback, and inspiring a genuine love for learning.
This includes fostering an atmosphere where questions are encouraged, tailoring the learning approach, offering valuable feedback, and igniting curiosity beyond the immediate academic requirements. I have enjoyed my learning journey at Monash and it has taught me a great deal about excellent teaching practices.
