What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Having tutored in the past, I love being able to use my academic strengths, teaching strategies, and compassion all together to provide a safe and effective environment for the student to learn in. I believe that the student should view me as a friend rather than his/her tutor, as only then they can learn and ask questions under no pressure or fear of judgement. This friendship I make with the student is what I enjoy the most, as I can see my influence on them help them grow both in their subjects as well as outside of their academic studies.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I believe my biggest strengths are my communication skills (as I can adapt to the student's personality and talk/teach to them accordingly), my organisational skills (I prepare for the lesson well-before and accumulate resources to use in the lesson), and my patience and empathy (as a student, I know how much patience means as a learner to understand concepts under no pressure or fear of being judged by the tutor).
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Most important things I believe are being able to tailor my teaching strategies and resources to the student's level and his/her preferred learning methods, being able to motivate and encourage the student to be more keen on learning and working harder, being able to help the student improve his/her time management and organisational skills, and most importantly, being able to act as a role model that the student can healthily bond with.
