What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I believe that tutoring is more than simply a 'teacher' and instead encompasses a student's growth which myself, as a tutor, can watch and be involved in. From my experience as a violin assistant tutor, I have found a sense of pride in knowing that I helped my student's find their potential and strengths, allowing them to achieve their best. Being a part of this process is what I enjoy most about tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
Patience is key. As with any communication-based relationship, one must have patience so that information and understanding can be transferred efficiently, especially when it comes to young and eager students. As a tutor, I believe this is my best quality as I will be able to acknowledge my student's concerns, thinking process and explanations. By attentively engaging with them, this will allow me to better gauge how they are, both in terms of study and mentality, and assist them in learning to the best of their ability. I also communicate clearly to help others understand.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Naturally, a tutor's main priority is to provide profound and thorough knowledge through clear communication. I believe that while this is nuclear to the role, this teaching can only be achieved if the tutor also carries other accompanying qualities. This includes patience and listening, aforementioned, and trust. As a tutor, it is inevitable that my student will rely on me for guidance when they reach a hurdle or want to improve. Therefore, establishing trust through an encouraging, yet professional, demeanor will help my student feel motivated to continue studying with an enhanced mindset.

Jacob is encouraged to write more. This will heavily be assisted through the consistent use of a checklist to help him include as much as he can in his writing. Jacob should focus on his times-tables as this will form a basis for other mathematical calculations.

When he is βpushedβ to write more, Jacob is highly successful in his ability write persuasively. He was able to identify and use tones throughout his writing. There are no concerns with his simple times-tables as he is able to learn them at a steady manner.
Jacob should focus on expressing his strong ideas via writing, rather than through speech. It is clear that he knows what the prompt is asking of him, however he needs guidance on how to turn his thoughts into writing. In terms of maths, Jacob should continue practice his times-tables to help integrate it into his memory.

Kaylee shower success in her ability formulate ideas and arguments. She adapted well to integrating different tones in her argumentative writing, despite not knowing what tones were prior to the lesson. Kaylee displays a high level of understanding of the rules associated with different areas of mathematics, particularly algebra.
Kaylee is limit in her vocabulary and ability to write in a way in which her words flow seamlessly. Additionally, she slightly struggles with how to structure her writing. There are no major concerns for maths. While she is unsure of certain areas, such as geometry and probability, these have yet to be taught in the school year.

Kaylee demonstrates strong ideas and a sound understating of how to persuade. In terms of maths, it is clear that she understand the rules and patterns of algebra. Kaylee has also been highly successful in using her calculator when it is required.
For English, Kaylee should focus on new concepts, such as road maps and theses, in order to make her writing smoother and more efficient. Iβd also recommend for her to expose herself to slightly more advanced reading in order to enhance her vocabulary. Kaylee shows an excellent understanding of maths concepts. However, with questions that require higher critical thinking, she should focus on separating her working in an organised manner to help both herself and her teacher understand her though process.
