What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Tutoring gives me the opportunity to make an impact on someone else's life. From a young age, I was always taught that helping someone else achieve their goals would fulfill me in life. I believe the same to ring true in tutoring. I remember seeing the happy faces of the students I taught after understanding a fundamental concept or when they started to achieve good grades. From my experience, transferring the knowledge I wish I had a as a student to my students also make me feel like I educate and motivate those who learn from me, making me feel truly fulfilled.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Firstly, I believe my experiences in tennis coaching as well as tutoring have improved my ability to remain patient and really nurture those trying to learn from me. This leads to a stronger ability to teach without jumping steps and according to each individual student's pace. Secondly, my leadership experiences over the years as a platoon sergeant, tennis captain and project leader have gifted me the experience of working with many from diverse backgrounds/ages. From this I have developed a natural ability to communicate with those around me and collaborate towards achieving results.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that it is extremely pivotal to build a strong foundational understanding for the student on the subject I am teaching. Instead of purely teaching them to memorise and get good grades, a good tutor ensures key concepts are communicated clearly and concisely in a nurturing manner, according to the pace of the student. While it is important to ensure that the student scores good grades through understanding, I believe a good tutor should also act as a guide for the student outside of school work., teaching them about potential career paths and being a good example for them to follow.
