What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I hold a passion for tutoring because it brings me great satisfaction to know that I am able to advance someone's knowledge and help them out. I enjoy explaining topics and introducing new concepts to individuals especially those who want to learn and be better. Also just interacting with students and building postive connections with them is really meaningful and it makes me feel that I am actually making an impact.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Having tutored for almost 3 years now , I have grown tremendously from when I first started. My strengths as a tutor stem from my own experience as a student. I have always been acedemically strong, especially in maths. I have done all 3 VCE maths and scored really well in my SACs etc which allows me to be confident and clear in teaching maths content. Furthermore, I have built resilience and patience as working with middle school students has not always been easy but with time, I have learnt to create boundaries and be firm with my students while also building a safe learning environment.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that a tutor needs to be able to explain a certain topic in different ways as one approach is not a fit for all. Alongside this, communicating and being emotionally intelligent allows to truly understand your student and how they deal with acedemic pressure etc. Ultimately, patience is the key when it comes to tutoring as students may not always be easily grasp content and as a tutor, you need to be mindful that while you are a master at what you're teaching, it is the first time a student is being introduced tot he topic.
