What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing students grow more confident in themselves. I love the moment when something finally clicks for them (and they start answering the problems with their eyes lit up--- they really do), it is really rewarding. I also enjoy creating a supportive space where they feel comfortable learning and asking questions!My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think one of my strengths as a tutor is being able to make students feel comfortable. I try to act more like a friendly guide than a strict teacher so they do not feel nervous or pressured. This helps them open up, ask questions, and learn at their own pace. I have found that when students feel relaxed, they understand the lessons more easily and enjoy learning a lot more.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is not pressure students and understand that everyone learns differently. Not all students will get something right away, and what matters is being patient and staying with them through the process until they understand. Hi, my name’s Dennise! I’m a new tutor who has many experiences in volunteer tutoring, and I love dancing, singing, drawing, and playing badminton! (+ I ride my bike occasionally :P)

I’m a Filipino student perfectly fluent in English and (Filipino) Tagalog. Right now, I’m a university student from University of Sydney, and I just finished my first year of studying Bachelor of Psychology. (I am very well aware of how challenging studying is—specially the harder subjects :>)

Through student leadership roles and peer mentoring, Dennise has learned how to listen carefully, encourage shy learners, and explain ideas in more than one way. She enjoys working with younger students and focuses on building their confidence as much as their marks. In sessions, this tutor uses real-life examples, patient repetition, and plenty of positive feedback so students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and steadily improve in both Maths and English.
