What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
I most enjoy the opportunity to see students develop and grow. The most enriching part about teaching is see a student gain confidence in themselves and in their future. I know from experience the effect a good tutor can have as a role model and I know the value your words have for a student. Developing trust and a mentor relationship allows both the student and tutor to develop a complex understanding of expectations and boundaries and sets the student up to achieve their goals. A confident student feels more positive towards their coursework and may consider more ambitious career pathways.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
My strengths as a tutor are my flexibility and capacity to cater to a wide range of ages, capacities, learning difficulties and cultures. I have experience teaching a variety of students from a wide range of cultures, and through this I have come to understand the importance of Hofstedes 6 cultural paradigms when addressing students. I also place high value on the individual needs of the student and I am capable at catering individual learning plans and lessons. Professional and efficient communication is another strength for me, when speaking with both students and their parents.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be a role model. Someone who can sympathise with the difficulties and experiences of a student and can give them effective strategies for personal development to set them ahead. Understanding goes a long way in furthering trust and academic confidence for a student. Asking them about themselves and what their goals are, separate from academia can set a tutor up to cater their teachings and teaching styles and languages (visual, written, kinesthetic) to the needs of the student to provide the highest chances of success.
