What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students understand and consolidate concepts they struggle with through tailored lessons in which their own learning method is targeted. I love seeing the satisfaction the students feel when they complete tasks they previously thought they were not capable of doing, which increases their confidence in their own capabilities. One of my strengths as a tutor is my great passion for teaching, as can be seen through my 18+ months of tutoring experience. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Science (pathway to teaching primary/secondary) and have been placed on the 2024 Dean's merit list at WSU, which reflects my passion for teaching and science. I have also achieved a very high grade of 98% in a math unit I took in one of my uni semesters, which reflects my capability of teaching math. I am also bilingual (English and Arabic) and have experience in working with children from diverse backgrounds.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
What I consider to be the most important thing for a tutor to do for a student is to help them understand and consolidate concepts they are struggling with through a personalised experience by targeting their own learning method. Additionally, it is very important to increase their confidence in their learning capabilities by teaching them skills beyond simple learning such as problem-solving, in which they can tackle a variety of problems they come across independently. She can identify the difference between like, unlike, improper, and mixed fractions. She also did very well on her homework on Roman numerals.
She needs more practice on multiplying fractions and working with worded problems (fractions), for example, being confident with identifying that the words 'product' and 'of' refer to multiplication, and applying that when answering questions.
The student went well with rounding off numbers, expression of words into numbers, and algebra. She did amazing with memorising the Roman numerals!

The student needs to work on and practice simplifying fractions that involve a division symbol (reciprocals) and comparing fractions (which one is bigger/smaller). She also needs to practice working with prime numbers, working with percentages and subtracting them, and converting units which we will practice in the lessons as well as be provided for homework. We will also practice applying the crucial study habits I taught her to improve her confidence in learning math and build her problem solving abilities. She did very well today as she was exposed to new topics/topics she finds challenging such as the concept of reciprocals but still managed to work on the questions with me! Through practice and application of the study habits taught she will see great improvement in her math performance.

The student needs improvement with Roman numerals, measurement (circumference), simplifying fractions involving division, fractions involving unknown pronumerals, 24 hour clock time, unit conversions (e.g. 5 dal 4 l = _____ dl), and comparing patterns in a table. Overall, the student did well today and breaking down questions will really help them improve their overall performance in maths!
