I thoroughly enjoy turning a subject that a student struggles with into one that they enjoy and can be successful at. I especially cherish the moments that a topic finally clicks for a student, and it transforms their academic trajectory. I think, as a tutor, I make a strong effort to teach a topic catering to each specific studentsβ learning style. I am patient, and have the ability to explain a challenging topic in many ways. I think the most important things a tutor can do is listen attentively, and bring excitement into each session. Tutoring is more listening to the areas in which the student is confused rather than trying to explain everything.
