Having experienced first-hand the frustration and anxiety that surrounds the inability to understand course content and succeed in the HSC, I'm more than happy to provide guidance to students in that same position. My greatest strength as a tutor is my ability to empathise with students experiencing difficulty, as my similar experiences have developed the necessary patience and communication skills to be able to teach them. Rather than 'how to answer questions', the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is teach them how to think to solve problems. In a real-world workplace, problem solving is a crucial skill as it creates meaningful solutions to issues. This is why teaching maths should go beyond drilling procedures, formulas and theorems into a student's head - tutors should encourage students to develop a wholesome understanding of the problem, why certain steps are taken and how best to approach it. This will allow students to develop critical thinking skills that extend beyond mathematics.Tutoring students in 👦 👧

In future, Hayden should avoid rushing through his homework, as it is an important opportunity to practice what he has learnt independently. Hayden had some difficulty with harder questions about analysing pareto charts.
