What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy the being able to help and aid a young student learn new theories or concepts that they haven't previously realised or known about. I love being a part of their learning process, as not only does the student learn new concepts, I also learn about methods of communicating and mentoring that will also assist me in the future. Most of all, I love seeing the great results the student achieve at the end, knowing that I have successfully helped a student achieve higher marks and have made them be a happier person.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe one of my main strength is communication, especially to younger people, as I know I have once been in their shoes and understand what the student may be going through, if they have difficulty learning some concepts. Through my previous tutoring experience, I understand the key to effective communication to students, especially younger students (year 5 - 8) is by getting to understand the individual first. This is achieved by great listening skills, another trait that I have, and thus enables me to understand what is the best method to tutor/mentor the student.
Most important things I can do for a student π
The most important trait a tutor must do for a student is listen. After all the student is coming to the tutor to learn and clear their doubts, thus the tutor must also be willing to listen to the student when they have any troubles and be patient with the student. From previous experience, as a student, I have had teachers and tutors, teach at their own pace thus leaving the student behind and lost in the content. Thus a tutor must be able to listen and be patient with the student, and only start teaching new topics once the student has mastered they previous topics.
