What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I really enjoy helping others get through a difficult task. At work, I take it upon myself to coach my staff as much as possible so that we feel banded together in solving complex problems. I have a methodical approach when it comes to solving big complex problems. I have found in my career that most problems can be solved with the right support and approach. Breaking down big problems into little achievable steps not only teaches people how to think critically and strategically but also yields great results and causes less stress.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think I'm very good at explaining things to people. I've been told that many times by associates in audit training as well as friends/family/partner. I have a passion to teach people something they don't understand in the most simple way possible. I'm also young at heart, reasonable and down-to-earth. I relate to a lot of people and make the effort to connect to people authentically. This helps motivate people when I work with them.
Most important things I can do for a student π
It's really important to be patient and maintain an open mind. Every student is different andearns different topics at different rates. When I was young I put pressure on myself to learn every topic as well as my peers and at the same rate. This caused a lot of stress for me and made me feel inadequate if I wasn't able to meet my goal. I think it's critical for a student to learn as soon as possible that needing extra support in an area is not only okay but normal! The reality of the learning environment is everyone struggles at some point in their academic career and it's the approach we take on helping ourselves get through the struggle that matters.
