What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

As a typical nerd and I guess "teacher's pet" growing up, I've always strongly appreciated the kindness and helpfulness teachers gave when they made me understand concepts so well. I want to pass that along to others, because I relate to that moment when a child lights up with their wide eyes and says "OHHHH MY GOD I GET IT NOW", and it brings me joy when I know I helped someone get to that moment. Everyone has different learning styles, and I find it very interesting to learn of these different learning styles.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

[1] I can provide different perspectives to solving problems and viewing situations, coming from moving multiple schools growing up, where I had to interact with many people of various backgrounds and experiences [2] Communication, from moving multiple schools, and joining hackathons and extracurriculars in being a General Committee Member of The Young Scientists Australia and a team member of the University High School yearbook committee [3] I wasn’t always the perfect student, thus I can understand and reach out to students going through difficult times affecting their academic performance.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Understand the student’s specific goals in their subjects, and how they learn best. Understand the difficulties students can experience that affect their academic abilities, as well as the feelings of stress and pressure common amongst students. Provide encouragement for the student to prioritise to just continue completing the task at hand and focus on the end goal, even if it isn’t their best work, when the times get tough, and reassure them that progress can always be made.
