What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy being able to connect with young people, and to hopefully encourage them to achieve in a way that is accessible to them. Tutoring allows you to really connect with the young person, and I believe you can be an important role model in their life.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe I am patient and have the ability to explain the same thing in various different ways. I understand that each person absorbs information based on their past experiences, and therefore a different approach is sometimes needed to be able to help each individual.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is build confidence. School can often be a highly pressurized environment with an intense focus on academic success. It is so important to remind young people that success is measured in many different ways, and that school can be a fishbowl -> everyone can be successful!

Cadence seems confident with shapes topic and can apply the equations well. She adapted quickly to new information and progressed quickly in the session. Worded questions are still a challenge but Cadence is getting more confident each time we encounter them.
Found a knowledge gap when rearranging equations and noting the order of shapes in scale factor questions. Need to work on algebraic fluency.

Cadence was as focused as usual and has been giving more direction on the subjects/ questions she would like to work on, which is great. Cadence has been responding well when pushed to take on more challenging questions, learning to implement more general mathematical logic and problem solving. She is confident with trig.
When a question handles only one topic cadence is often proficient in tackling it, however when the question combines different mathematical topics I find she starts to overthink the solution. We will work on this further to start breaking down the problem more strategically.
Cadence is confident in these subjects, continuing revision with past papers/ questions will solidify her understanding.
Cadence is confident in these subjects, continuing revision with past papers/ questions will solidify her understanding.
Further practise on questions which utilise several topics or out of the box thinking is required, will do this by working on past paper questions as a priority.

Cadence was able to recall matricies work even though not revised, and she persevered with algebra questions even though I could see this was more challenging for her.
Cadence actually knew the answers to the matrices question but second guessed herself. Aim to gain confidence in her knowledge and trust her intuition. Further algebra practised required.
