Chemistry Tutor
A tutor must adapt to the strengths of a student. Different students have different ways of understanding concepts. For example, some need written explanations and some are comfortable with verbal explanations. Keeping this in mind is key to helping a student. Also, it is very important for a tutor to make a student comfortable enough for…

Local Reviews

Walter is a lovely patient and supportive tutor , we are already seeing an improvement in Olivias confidence and willingness to tackle maths . From her first lesson Walter picked up exactly where she was struggling and he is patiently teaching her the strategies and explaining maths to her in a way she understands . We are so happy with her progress . A big thank you to Walter and Ezy Math

Inside UsherTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Emily focused on Pythagoras' theorem and solving algebraic equations, also working through simple interest calculations with step-by-step examples.

In Year 9, Sarah reviewed scientific notation and index laws, clarifying past test issues to strengthen her understanding of exponents.

Meanwhile, Year 6 student Jack practised writing narrative plans based on creative prompts and completed comprehension questions while reading 'The Outsiders' in preparation for class discussions.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student struggled with using diagrams to fully answer multi-part science questions, sometimes leaving parts incomplete when not all figures were considered.

In Year 11, a student spent too long on tough exam questions and ran out of time for sections they knew well—"she didn't attempt the final geometry problem despite having practiced it."

For Year 7 English, one student left their practice paragraph at home and missed out on feedback that session; another did not complete assigned narrative homework, feeling "stuck" after writing only the introduction.

Without bringing materials or completing set tasks, opportunities for growth were missed.

Recent Achievements

One Usher tutor noticed a Year 10 student who previously hesitated to share his ideas is now volunteering original responses during writing tasks and completing two practice paragraphs for homework, even selecting strong examples without prompting.

A Year 7 student who struggled with multi-step index laws recently worked through indices questions independently, only needing minimal clarification.

Meanwhile, a younger student in Year 3 initially resisted maths games but ended up enjoying them and tackled the hidden message activity on her own. In the last session, she completed all time worksheets independently after reviewing key clock markers.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We are very happy with Sean, the kids have responded very well to him and even look forward to the sessions!

Abed is passionate about maths, and is very keen to teach his student, and ensure they are succeeding. He is an asset to Ezymaths.

Things are going really well. Kai enjoys Noah's tutoring. On his last math's assessment he received 80% in comparison to the one before which was 55%. I met with his math's school teacher and she has provided upcoming topics for Noah to discuss with Kai as well as 2 practice tests. Her feedback was positive too and constructive. If we stay on this path, I'm confident that it will prepare him well for the upcoming HSC.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Withers Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like SEDA College WA (Withers Rotary Av.).
