Engineering Studies Tutor Drayton, QLD
In my opinion, the most important thing about tutoring is creating rapport with the student. Because when the student likes you, he/she begins to trust you. And when you gain their trust, they would listen to what you are saying then they would learn what you are tutoring. As a tutor, my strength is I have a really deep foundation of Mathematics…

Inside Vale ViewTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 12 student Tom focused on integration techniques in Maths Methods, working through a worksheet of area under curve questions, and also refined his Chemistry Student Experiment by discussing structure and intentions for the report.

Year 11 student Bonnie tackled financial mathematics, specifically annuities and compound interest, as well as exploring key ideas from network theory.

For primary support, Year 5 student Sam practised calculating the areas of compound shapes like triangles and trapezoids using diagrams to build understanding.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Chemistry, one student struggled to clarify assignment structure and needed guidance on using assessment rubrics; as noted, "has not done an assignment for this subject before, so needs some guidance in terms of the structure to use."

Another senior student faced setbacks after a computer crash erased substantial work during a Maths session—organization and backup routines became immediate concerns.

In contrast, a Year 4 learner frequently left homework incomplete and often lost focus during basic multiplication drills. When asked about missed tasks, the response was typically a shrug and quick topic change.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Vale View noticed a big shift with one Year 12 student who, after struggling to justify his conclusions in maths assignments, now independently analyses data and clearly explains unexpected results—something he avoided before.

Another high school student working on integration questions recently began recognising where positive and negative areas arise, and now methodically applies this understanding without prompting.

Meanwhile, a younger student who used to lose focus easily is now more engaged during lessons and even completed all her homework ahead of time for the first session this term.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I came to work with Ezymaths because I knew I would get a wide range of students to tutor, which would undoubtedly improve my tutoring skill as well as communications skills (dealing with students and parents). The biggest accomplishment would be when my student's mark improved significantly and she moved up to the upper maths class in the next semester. I felt very proud of my students when they remembered the skills I taught them last week and used those skills to complete their homework and also to apply to other similar questions. The CEPs and various resources were useful. Thank you for your support for the past year!

I came to Ezy Math to get a job that I would be able to gain a range of skills from while working in my own time, which turned out great as I was able to work with clients around my own schedule. I've been quite happy with the results of my tutoring, I had a student who was getting a 'C' on average up to the top of the class with consistent 'A's. It's really great seeing the work you do affect others and when you do a good job, it really shows. I would recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to other prospective tutors, I never encountered a single problem with them and if I ever needed information, resources or help, they were always able to provide it to me. I would also recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to clients as having Ezy Math as a support structure definitely makes the work easier.

Laura has definitely gotten Diana to a great start. She eagerly anticipates her tutoring  and is seeming to take more  interest in Maths especially in the strands that she did not feel very confident about. Diana has told me that Laura's  explanations are easily understood and is simplified which makes it easy to remember. She also explains various strategies that can be used for problem solving which is good for time management when attempting to solve problems in class. Diana is able to use the notes taken during tutoring in class which is assisting with her understanding of the relevant strand or concept.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library or at your child's school (with permission), like Vale View State School.
