Local Reviews

This is our 4th Year with Ezy Maths! My daughter always struggled with Maths from the very beginning. When she was in Year 7 we began our journey with an EzyMaths Tutor and we haven't looked back. The Ezymaths system works. To have a Tutor that is selected to suit the personal and mathematical needs of your child, who lives close by, and who comes to your home has resulted in us having 3 of the most amazing tutors for my daughter. They are like mentors, friends but most of all effective teachers to her as they are young adults at Uni who can relate with my daughter and it just works. It is worth every cent to invest in your child's success at school in Maths. My daughter is now in year 10 and has passed every test and exam in the last 3 1/2 years and has ended up with academic awards each year. Our Ezymaths tutors have helped our daughter exceed in maths beyond our expectations. My daughter now hopes to become a primary school teacher and is undertaking General Maths for VCE. We would never have thought this would happen. Thank you.

Inside Ward BeltTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 Alice worked on subtraction using the borrowing method and began learning two-digit multiplication, including an introduction to the lattice method for larger numbers.

In Year 10, Lucas focused on factorising algebraic expressions, tackling difference of two squares and perfect square types with worked examples.

For Year 11, Jessica reviewed calculus by practising derivatives of exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions, reinforcing these skills through targeted exercises.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student working on algebra often avoided showing full working, especially when manipulating complex expressions; as a tutor noted, "he skipped steps in difference of squares problems, which hid sign errors." This made it harder to catch small mistakes and slowed progress in later questions.

In Year 4 subtraction and lattice multiplication tasks, written work was sometimes unclear or incomplete, leading to confusion when reviewing methods.

One senior student preparing for exams relied heavily on revision of familiar basics rather than tackling unfamiliar problem types—leaving her less confident with curveball exam questions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Ward Belt noticed Elysia move from feeling uncertain with long division to tackling harder problems she created herself—she now shows her working and tells the tutor when she's stuck instead of guessing.

In another session, Jasmine, also in high school, adapted calculus and algebra skills to new topics without needing reminders, which hadn't happened before.

Meanwhile, Jai in primary school chose his own skip-counting challenges using Lego and spotted number patterns after 30 all by himself, a big step up from previously only following instructions.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Nina was very happy with her tutor, and her marks in maths have shown good improvement. We have been happy with Ezymaths as well.

We are so happy with Sarah.  She is extremely professional and very well organised.  She is also very thorough with her lessons and her method of teaching. Chantal really enjoys the hour she has with Sarah and Chantal has already gained confidence and is enjoying maths once again due to Sarah's positive and constructive feedback. Sarah is an asset to Ezymath Tutoring.

Thank you for the follow up. Sinan is working out fine. He has connected with Matthew well. Matthew has indicated that Sinan is explaining some of the mathematical concepts better than what his teacher is explaining, which is a good start. Hopefully this will translate into a better maths grade.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Evanston Gardens Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Riverbanks College B-12.
