The most important thing a maths tutor can do is to make their students curious about the subject they are studying and help them retain the knowledge they had learnt I think my strengths are that I have a lot of knowledge in subjects that some students have trouble in and I can further expand that knowledge so that each student gets to understand…

This involves not only teaching students the set content, but also aiding them in developing their own personalised strategies regarding study skills,…

The most important thing for me as a maths tutor is to help students to be able to identify what they can do and what they need help with, especially when they get to the assessment stage of their studies. My strengths as a tutor are: 1. Content knowledge 2. The ability to identify misconceptions 3. Good communication skills 4. My…

Inside Warragul WestTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Mehar focused on converting between decimals and fractions using place value understanding, and also practised adding and subtracting proper fractions represented on a number line.

Year 10 student Gavin worked through graphing logarithmic and exponential functions, exploring how different transformations shift these graphs.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Alexander revised physics concepts including kinematics and forces on inclined planes, as well as applying energy transfer ideas to collision problems using past exam questions.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Methods, one student relied heavily on the CAS calculator to linearise data but missed key steps when modeling equations; as noted, "he skipped showing steps in algebra, which hid sign errors."

Meanwhile, a Year 9 learner was not organized with note-taking and did not complete assigned homework, making it harder to consolidate class concepts.

In Year 6 maths, a student followed teacher notes without creating their own summary notes—this led to confusion over area formulas and unit conversions. The lack of independent note-making left gaps that surfaced during revision.

Recent Achievements

One Warragul West tutor noticed a real shift with Tyler, who previously struggled to apply trigonometric ratios but now quickly sets up equations and confidently uses both scientific and CAS calculators—especially during bearings questions that were tricky before.

In another session, Gavin, a senior student, moved from confusion about quadratic inequalities to independently solving them using the discriminant and even tackled transformations on functions with less prompting than usual.

Meanwhile, Omita in Year 6 began justifying his answers out loud for the first time, rather than guessing quietly; he talked through area calculations step by step without waiting for hints.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Charlie's tutor, Alex, was remarkable with Charlie and I cannot speak highly enough of him. He is doing a lot better in numeracy.

EzyMath tutoring is the ideal way to enter into the highly competitive field of personal tuition. Through their Continuing Education Program and extensive support I was able to greatly expand my capacity to educate students. I would highly recommend Ezymath to both new and more experienced tutors as a way of acquiring new clients, and the professional nature of the company ensures a cohesive match for all parties involved.

I've been working with Ezy Math Tutoring for the best part of 3 years and I can truly say it has been an honour to work with such a supportive and caring group of people. My students and their families have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I was making a difference. Ezy Math always made working with them a breeze, ensuring that my needs and the needs of my students were accommodated for. I have recommended Ezy Math to fellow tutors in the past and shall continue to do so in the future. I would like to thank Ezy Math for all their support over the years and I look forward to many more successful tutoring relationships.

Maths tutoring in Warragul West

As our company name suggests, we want to make tutoring "Ezy" for parents, students and tutors! We're super passionate about education and especially about maths. Helping a student reach levels of accomplishment that were previously unknown changes their life and sets them up for long term success. It's a "feel good" experience for the student, for parents...and of course for us! Our testimonials are the inspiration that keep us going through hard times. Tutoring works well when it is consistent, reliable, flexible and easy to manage ... otherwise, for a combination of reasons, we don't get the impact we want.

So here's how the service works: We will organise for a local maths tutor in Warragul West to reach out to you and organise the time and day for the lesson. The tutor comes to you. You can have the tutoring as often or as little as you like. There are no booking fees or "extras" of any sort. You simply get an invoice at the end of each month for the tuition time used. Best of all, your first lesson works as a trial, so if for some reason the tutor isn't a good fit for your family, you won't be charged for that lesson!

Ezy! Try us, 1300 312 354.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Bass Coast Mobile Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Joseph's School.
