I think that the most important part of being a physics tutor is not only teaching a student on how to excel at the particular subject, but teach them to develop certain study habits and techniques that they will then be able to utilize and apply to different subjects as well. Therefore building a foundation of study skills which they can then…

A teacher's job is not just to give a student knowledge. But it's to inspire their student to learn and seek knowledge and understanding themselves. Which is why I consider that inspiring a student to learn and to continue to try to understand the world around them one of the most important things a teacher can do. Our job is to inspire…

I believe it depends highly on the students understanding and their level of education. However in saying this, the ability to create interest and enjoyment in a subject is the most important. As from my own experience enjoying a subject and being interested in the topic helps greatly in motivating a person to understand and achieve well in it. I…

As I have mentioned in my strength, I consider that it is very important to be an easy person to interact with. It enables students to be comfortable with the tutor and clarify their doubts. It is also important for the tutor to do his homework before tutoring and understand the learning speed of the student. Tutors must not be boring and make…

I think one extremely important thing a physics tutor can do is to adapt their teaching to the individual needs and abilities of each student, and adapt themselves to the student, not force the student to adapt to them. Inside WarwickTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Jacob focused on algebraic factorization and simplifying expressions, working through examples involving like and unlike terms.

Year 10 student Emily explored interpretive texts by analysing Trevor Noah's memoir *Born a Crime*, with emphasis on figurative language such as simile and juxtaposition, and practised responding to essay prompts about experiences of moving to new places.

Meanwhile, Year 5 student Alex tackled fraction addition with mixed numbers using visual models to support understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student preparing for algebra tests avoided writing out working, especially in multi-step problems—"he said he could do it mentally, but missed negative signs," noted the tutor.

In Year 11 maths, over-reliance on calculators meant less confidence when converting fractions to decimals without digital help.

For a Year 5 student, messy layout during long division led to repeated confusion and backtracking mid-question.

Meanwhile, a Year 10 learner hesitated to edit or review extended responses in English assignments; this resulted in incomplete ideas and missed opportunities for clarity.

Each scenario slowed progress at critical moments.

Recent Achievements

One Warwick tutor noticed a big shift with a Year 10 student who, after struggling to identify variables and set up hypotheses in science, can now do this almost independently—she recently completed a fractions worksheet with barely any mistakes.

In English, a Year 7 student started making her own notes to clarify the difference between figurative and descriptive text, instead of waiting for help.

Meanwhile, during a recent session with a Year 5 student, he worked through challenging word problems using counters and even asked for more difficult questions once he finished the original set.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Thank you very much for your assistance.  I have found your company to be extremely professional.  Rory has been of great assistance to Cordelia and we are very appreciative of his help.

I could not be happier with how things are going. Cleveland really likes Laurent. Cleveland doesn't complain about having tutor that day and is really taking it seriously.  Listening and focused, even being neat and becoming organised.

We have been extremely happy with your service and in particular the professionalism and help Jordan received from Suraj.  Cannot endorse Suraj enough.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Girrawheen Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Glendale Primary School.
