English Tutor Dingabledinga, SA
In my opinion, the most important role of an english tutor is to not only retell information and explain answers but give students tools in studying different subjects that can be applicable to their independent study. In this way, the student can learn how to independently intake knowledge; a skill that will serve them not only in the year or…

Need help in year 12 mathematics

Inside WillungaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Grace worked on place value up to six digits and practiced 2, 5, and 10 times tables using quick quizzes.

For Year 8, Liam focused on index laws and solved simultaneous equations through step-by-step problem sets.

Meanwhile, Year 9 student Sophie reviewed quadratic factorization methods and completed practice questions on expanding algebraic expressions.

Recent Challenges

A Year 3 student struggled to show working in maths and often relied on finger counting for calculations, which slowed progress with multiplication and division. As one tutor noted, "she was not taught all of her timetables," leading to confusion in larger number problems.

In Year 8, a student's tendency to freeze at the start of assignments meant she lost valuable time before even beginning problem-solving—this sometimes left parts unfinished.

Meanwhile, a Year 11 student showed reluctance to use feedback after making mistakes with index laws; as described: "needs help improving confidence in her work."

Recent Achievements

A Willunga tutor recently noticed that a Year 10 student, Lara, has started to openly identify where she's struggling on practice exams and now asks targeted questions—something she was hesitant to do at first.

In Year 8 maths, Ciana completed a practice test independently with only one or two requests for help and scored 100%, marking a shift from needing regular guidance on similar tasks earlier in the term.

Meanwhile, Nicole in Year 4 moved from getting none of her rounding problems correct on her pre-assessment to scoring 75% on her latest test after consistently working through mistakes out loud.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

My experience with ezymaths was one like a rollercoaster that ended on a high note. What's special about ezymaths is that you will find support and there will be teaching material and teaching strategies available if you get stuck. Overall, as a tutor, you will learn a lot more than you will expect.

For establishing tutors, Ezy Math provides a solid support base to springboard them into the market. Not only does it take out the stress of sourcing and securing clients, but the CEP modules ensure the constant engagement of the learning styles of the tutor, and make it clear that all manner of support is available for those who need it. This programme really sets Ezy Math apart from other services, and allows tutors to blossom into confident, experienced mentors. The in-home service really does provide a unique experience for clients, which they truly appreciate. It also helps to make a clear distinction in students' minds between the lessons offered at school, to the very different style of education tutors have to produce. For all prospective tutors, Ezy Math is a great way to grow comfortable within the industry. Through the guidance of Ezy Math it has been a joy to watch students develop a real confidence because of my tutelage.

I just wanted to express my thanks to you and my son's tutor Sam. With his assistance Grady improved his maths results from virtually failing the subject to achieving a very respectable B + for his end of year  11 final grade. Sam was personable and patient, encouraging and motivating. Even though my son has decided not to continue studying maths in year  12 , I am delighted with the results he was able to achieve ,and the confidence and self- belief he attained. Please pass these comments on to Sam. Again, thank you so much.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Willunga Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Willunga Primary School.
