Chemistry Tutor Bethania, QLD
Ensure that if they are facing significant challenges with a specific topic, that they maintain a growth mindset, and do not orient their attitude to one of self-defeat. My main strength is in my ability to communicate. I can utilize multiple approaches to explain a single a simple concept if needed, and use simple and concise…

Chemistry Tutor Logan Reserve, QLD
I believe the most important thing a chemistry tutor can provide a student with is the confidence in themselves that is needed to accomplish what they dream. By explaining things in a way which makes sense to each individual student they are equipped with the tools they require to get where they want to be in life. My ability to explain concepts…

Chemistry Tutor Eagleby, QLD
I can help the student regain confidence so that he or she can do what is required. I tutor students online with Ezymath, so I can tutor your child wherever you live in Australia. My sister has told me that I make complicated things easy to understand by getting to the core of the problem. She said that I usually said: "Look at it this way",…

Inside WindarooTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Zara worked on statistics, focusing on calculating mean, median, mode, and range using her class data.

In Year 9, Ethan tackled solving algebraic equations for x and practised operations with negative numbers and fractions through targeted exercises.

Meanwhile, a Year 11 student revised logarithmic equations by applying log rules and converting square roots to index form as part of exam preparation.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8 Maths, a student did not attempt assigned homework or begin their maths assignment, with notes stating "he has not made any attempts to the assignment yet." This avoidance delayed essential practice with rounding and multiplication.

For a senior student preparing for tests in Algebra, there was reliance on looking back at worked examples before attempting new questions, rather than building recall and independent problem-solving—"he kept looking at the previous examples we did together before attempting new questions." This dependency is limiting progress toward independent mastery.

In Year 12, test anxiety meant a practice exam wasn't completed under timed conditions, impacting readiness for actual assessments. This anxiety directly affects performance under real exam conditions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Windaroo noticed a big shift with one Year 10 student who had previously hesitated to ask for help; this week, he started voicing his questions as soon as he hit a roadblock, leading him to independently solve every percentage and rounding problem thrown his way.

Meanwhile, a Year 8 student who struggled at first with mean, median, mode, and range surprised both of us by not only understanding these concepts faster than expected but also confidently explaining her answers back after practice.

In a recent primary session, two Year 3 students insisted on tackling new time-telling problems themselves before asking for feedback—something they'd been too unsure to try just weeks ago.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I've been working with Ezy Math Tutoring for the best part of 3 years and I can truly say it has been an honour to work with such a supportive and caring group of people. My students and their families have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I was making a difference. Ezy Math always made working with them a breeze, ensuring that my needs and the needs of my students were accommodated for. I have recommended Ezy Math to fellow tutors in the past and shall continue to do so in the future. I would like to thank Ezy Math for all their support over the years and I look forward to many more successful tutoring relationships.

I would recommend  working with Ezy Math for any prospective tutor. The work is very satisfying. Maths can be a difficult subject for anybody, and when you can show someone an easier, systematic way to solve one of their problems the students really appreciate the help.

I came to work with Ezymaths because I knew I would get a wide range of students to tutor, which would undoubtedly improve my tutoring skill as well as communications skills (dealing with students and parents). The biggest accomplishment would be when my student's mark improved significantly and she moved up to the upper maths class in the next semester. I felt very proud of my students when they remembered the skills I taught them last week and used those skills to complete their homework and also to apply to other similar questions. The CEPs and various resources were useful. Thank you for your support for the past year!

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Beenleigh Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Windaroo Valley State High School.
