The most important thing a tutor can do for their student is provide them with motivation to move on and keep pushing. Since I know those times are not easy i reckon helping students get through with their maximum ability is crucial. I am very patient and I am willing to explain something as many times until the student has understood the concept.…

The obvious impact is to help them learn and understand the concepts covered in class as well as practice vital skills in preparation for them. I also believe that it is a tutors role to create a safe, respectful environment, built on mutual understanding and without judgement. A really good tutor should also develop skills, habits and a mindset…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is address a students weakens and advise them on how they can improve upon that weakness. For me when I was a student the best thing the teacher could do was give my examples and tons of practice that’s the way I learnt and it worked for me. Working according to the student whatever works for them,…

A tutor should be able to help clear each and every notion that the student has about a certain topic. They should not get tired of explaining concepts on repeat. A good tutor should always be consistent and take note of what their student does. They should regularly follow up on lesson plans and make sure that the student is not burdened by any…

The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is dedicate as much time and effort needed for the student to fully understand the topic. Especially with math based subjects, if the student doesn't fully understand one topic, it is possible that the student can't understand harder concepts. -Explaining complex concepts in the most…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is give them the opportunity for real self-development. From my own experience during the HSC, I had to learn many lessons the hard way, and I realised that success isn’t just about understanding the content, but about building systems that help you learn effectively. A good tutor…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to never give up on them. I believe the most important function of a tutor is to motivate and challenge their students to be the best version of themselves. Though tutors provide academic support, their main priorities should lie in their interpersonal connection with their students. If this connection didn’t exist, students might as well watch a prerecorded video. This…

I believe that the best tutors must empower students to believe they can learn anything; they celebrate small wins to make learning feel rewarding, not stressful. This helps them see the progress that they made, even if it's from small steps. Additionally, I believe that tutors must be able to build confidence, personalise learning, and inspire…

I'm so thankful I found EzyMath Toturing in social media. I like and appreciated how the admin and staff deal with my queries. People here are easy to talk with. EzyToturing helped my son in his math. I can say this because of the improvement I saw in his school reports. I definitely recommend to others who have kids that needs to uplift their math skill.

Inside AustralTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Enrique focused on algebraic expressions and equations, working through multi-step problems to reinforce his understanding.

For Year 9, Vangie tackled converting units in classwork and revisited her half-yearly exam mistakes by rewriting solutions with clear working shown.

Meanwhile, Amaan in Year 11 explored the quadratic formula within his new polynomials topic and began applying differentiation to solve geometric problems using first principles.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 Chemistry student relied heavily on notes when answering equilibrium and reaction questions, often hesitating to attempt calculation-based problems without worked examples. "She still needs to build confidence with calculations," a tutor observed, and this dependence limited her ability to explain Le Chatelier's Principle or predict products independently during practice.

In Year 10 Maths, one student avoided showing full working for algebraic manipulations, sometimes defaulting to calculator shortcuts rather than laying out each step—resulting in lost marks when mistakes occurred.

During a geometry lesson, a Year 7 student paused frequently to consult past exercises before tackling new variations, slowing progress as he sought reassurance from familiar material instead of grappling with the challenge directly.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Austral recently noticed some great progress with high school students tackling challenging concepts.

One Year 12 chemistry student, who used to struggle with equilibrium, can now confidently explain reaction yield, even relating it to the Haber process without prompting.

In maths, a senior student went from making "silly mistakes" on tests to independently spotting and correcting them—now finishing practice exams with only minor time management tweaks needed.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student who often waited for hints surprised their tutor by solving new algebra problems alone during the session.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

My biggest accomplishment: Great kid in grade 4, energetic and fun to tutor, although lacked concentration and confidence in maths. I showed him simple maths tricks that no curriculum teaches (e.g. how to figure out 11 times tables to any number). He understood it well, but the biggest boost he had was the confidence he got from knowing something the other kids didn't. He started to enjoy maths a lot more and his scores and attitude improved. His care givers were very happy about it. I got a big kick from steering him in the right direction and I hope he carries on this confidence in all his endevours. With Ezy Math, what I felt was great were the weekly tutoring tips/themes. It helped a lot in knowing that there are many different approaches to many different kids' habits/attitudes (e.g. as above, just confidence boosting can greatly improve a child's performance). It was also great in having that as a tool to keep in touch and keep learning as the job progresses. 21st July 2012

Ezy Math Tutoring is a company that I would comfortably work with again as it provided me with the opportunity to work with students commited to improving in the classroom. Ezy Math Tutoring is not only a company that aims to help students with their mathematics but goes above and beyond to help clients with their general student careers, through the Continuing Education Program modules that tutors are asked to go through with their students on a regular basis. I liked the purpose they served. Ezy Math Tutoring finds great importance in informing the parents about their childs progress. The monthly progress reports help busy parents keep up to date with the work being covered and the overall progress of their child, which was the main attraction for me. If you are seeking a professional service that provides results I would highly reccomend Ezy Math Tutoring to any of the parents and prospective tutors out there. 22nd July 2012

Ezy Math Tutoring provided me with a lot of support, resources and training during my time working for them. I found teaching the students very rewarding and seeing the improvement in results really made it worth it. I would definitely recommend Ezy Math Tutoring for both prospective clients and fellow tutors as each will benefit greatly from this service. 23rd July 2012

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Carnes Hill Branch Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Austral Public School.
