Ensure that if they are facing significant challenges with a specific topic, that they maintain a growth mindset, and do not orient their attitude to one of self-defeat. My main strength is in my ability to communicate. I can utilize multiple approaches to explain a single a simple concept if needed, and use simple and concise…

Chemistry Tutor Edens Landing, QLD
The most important thing is to understand the students misconceptions and how to correct the cause of that misconception. To ensure that their fundamental knowledge is corrected before pursuing more complex tasks. It is also essentially to show empathy and respect so they may respect you back and try their best for you. I am empathetic and…

Chemistry Tutor Shailer Park, QLD
It is pivotal that the tutor is always easily approachable as otherwise shy students may be reluctant to ask the tutor questions and thus those shy kids may end up falling behind. In addition, I feel that tutors must always be supportive towards the student as any harsh or negative comments may severely hinder a students willingness and ability to…

Chemistry Tutor Ormeau, QLD
I think its most important to build a strong foundation to build upon in a given subject. for example its not just important that you understand how it works, you should be able to explain how it works to someone else. this is because it shows that you have a strong fluency in the subject and not just the ability to memorise a process. A strong…

Inside EaglebyTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Zara focused on understanding mean, median, mode, and range as part of her new Statistics unit.

For Year 8, Xavier worked through arithmetic with negative numbers and tackled order of operations alongside square roots to strengthen foundational skills.

Meanwhile, Year 9 student Lachlan revised Pythagoras' Theorem for finding short sides and began exploring congruent and similar triangles using step-by-step diagram work.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8 Maths, one student skipped homework on measures of spread and hadn't started a key assignment—"he has not made any attempts to the assignment yet"—leaving him unsure about teacher expectations.

In Year 11, forgetting log rules in algebra meant he repeatedly referred back to examples rather than attempting questions independently.

Another Year 9 learner showed working only after prompting; "we're working on making sure he shows all the steps," which hid sign errors during substitution tasks.

For a younger student, distraction during workbook time led to missed instructions until equations were written out for focus, delaying her progress through subtraction problems.

Recent Achievements

One Eagleby tutor noticed a big shift in Zara, a Year 9 student who used to hesitate with algebra—she now completes equations more efficiently and even explains her reasoning when she gets stuck.

Meanwhile, Carter in Year 8, who previously struggled to stay focused, managed to finish two full tasks with much better attention and picked up new algebra skills quickly during his {suburb} tutoring session.

For the younger group, Mia and Charlotte (Year 4) have started insisting on solving time problems by themselves first before asking for help—a clear sign they're becoming more independent learners.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Everything is going well. Lizzy and I are very happy with Michael and pleased with her results so far.

We really like Syed and Lucy is working well with him.  Her confidence is starting to grow with her times tables which is great to see.

I was very happy with the staff at your head office. My my initial contact person was Marcus, and he was extremely professional and thorough in explaining the services EZY MATHS provide and he reassured me of the the level of tutoring that the company provides and that they will endeavour to match a tutor for my 15 year olds math's concerns. The thing I liked the most is that at no time did I feel pressured and he made it sound so easy; Which it was. Thank you, and I will be using you guys again when the time arises.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Beenleigh Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Eagleby South State School.
