Science Tutor Edmonton, QLD
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to help the student progress in their learning by making learning easier and enjoyable, this is where building a relationship and having step by step instructions based on the learner's needs is important. When a student learns the skills and tools required to solve a problem, they become…

Science Tutor Westcourt, QLD
I personally believe that for a tutor to be effective, they have to be willing to listen to, and learn from, the individual that they are working with. There is always more than one way to teach a specific skill, and, as a result of this, it is important to work together to find the most effective methods. I think that it is important to foster an…

Local Reviews

John has been an amazing tutor for my son. John restored my son's confidence in his ability to do maths and prepared him for Year 12 exams.I cannot recommend his work highly enough, as he did everything we asked of him and more.

Inside EdmontonTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Layla focused on calculating wages and understanding simple interest through real-world examples.

In Year 8, Sophia revised index laws and worked on simplifying expressions with square roots and surds.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Eve practised solving trigonometry questions from a past exam paper and reviewed approaches to unfamiliar problems involving similarity and congruence in triangles.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student arrived without necessary materials for study, leading to lost lesson time and unfinished note-taking on formula recall.

In Year 11, "he lost his previous homework sheet and had to spend the lesson going through it again," which left less time for new learning and raised concerns about retaining information.

For a Year 4 student, skipping assigned homework twice meant missing out on vital practice with word problems—this gap showed up in her hesitation when tackling multi-step questions.

One tutor noted a Year 9's working was hard to follow, making it tough to catch calculation errors during algebraic rearrangement.

Recent Achievements

One Edmonton tutor noticed a high school student who used to wait for guidance now coming prepared with her own test questions and asking about tricky steps she'd struggled with at home.

Another recent high school session saw a Year 10 student independently apply feedback from her teacher, making all the required changes to an assignment on her own—something she hesitated to attempt before.

In primary, one younger student, after weeks of support, has started finishing all his division problems solo without extra prompts, even tackling some worded questions he would have skipped previously.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Zac is progressing well and is enjoying his tutoring with Emily.  He has clicked with her and they seem to be working well together.

We really like Mark, his communication style really suits Remy, and he is able to work out what she needs very quickly. We would love to stay with him until the end of the year. They are a good match. Thank you

I came to Ezy Math tutoring honestly because tutoring seemed like the best thing that would fit into my timetable. What I didn't expect was how much I would enjoy teaching the students. I found myself excited to come to tutoring, committed to doing all the prep work and checking up on my students before and after a big exam. I'm not gonna lie, its a lot of work but with even more reward as you see the students you're teaching slowly start to understand and apply their content. I felt my greatest achievement was taking a 60% achieving student in the second year 10 maths class and encouraging and working with him until he was hitting mid-90s marks and had been accepted into ext 1 maths for this year. I'm sad to leave Ezy math because I really enjoyed tutoring but I Would definitely recommend it to anyone. The support at Ezy math was the best. Even though I never met a staff member I felt they were great at checking up on me and helping me when I needed it!

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Edmonton Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Holy Spirit College - Edmonton Campus.
