I consider the best tutors to have a genuine passion for learning, which shines through when they are teaching others. I believe that this allows the tutor to engage with the student through honestly wanting to help and get the best out of them. It creates a positive and exciting environment when the student and tutor can both celebrate the wins…

Most importantly I need to be patient with them and ensure they feel comfortable and are understanding the concepts being taught. As a tutor I should also ensure students don't have any problems hindering their learning. I am a patient person that can work with the student. Furthermore, I am versatile in my ways of teaching to ensure the very…

I think regardless of outcomes and results, the biggest thing a tutor can do for a student is improve confidence in the given subject/s. The student should feel progress and improvement, and if the tutor cannot deliver these things then they are not doing their job effectively. I believe the tutor needs to communicate with the student effectively…

Egor has been a game-changer for my math skills. His ability to break down complex concepts into understandable chunks is truly wonderful.

Inside EttamogahTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Jason practised perimeter and area calculations for irregular shapes like rectangles and squares, and reviewed multiplication facts for the 6, 7, 8, and 9 times tables.

In Year 9, Luka revised expanding and factorising polynomials of different degrees and worked through homework in preparation for an upcoming maths test.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Ella focused on simplifying linear equations as well as exponent rules through targeted practice questions drawn from her textbook resources.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Maths, Sienna was encouraged to revise significant figures and square roots, but notes show she relied heavily on provided solutions rather than practicing independently. This meant key calculation steps were sometimes missed in homework, making it harder to spot where errors occurred later.

In Year 5 long division tasks, one student's habit of skipping the multiplication and subtraction steps "so the teacher can see how you got your final answer" led to incomplete working—especially when no remainder appeared.

Meanwhile, in Year 10 English writing assignments, Darcy needed extra support staying engaged with structured paragraph writing; disengagement slowed progress during timed essay practice.

Recent Achievements

One Ettamogah tutor noticed a real shift in a Year 11 student's attitude to algebra—after initially struggling with misconceptions, he began actively asking questions about his mistakes and wanted to understand where he'd gone wrong.

In another session, a high school student who used to get stuck on exam-style maths problems was able to answer those same questions after working through her difficulties step by step.

Meanwhile, Maya in Year 3 has started tackling her times tables more independently; she even did extra work at home in her Naplan book without prompting from her tutor.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I really did get enjoyment out of helping the students understand theory that they didn't before, and it was satisfying each time they said "I get it now". I would recommend Ezy math tutoring to other tutors as they are very professional and they locate students that are close by to your home to reduce travel time. The interview process is very professional, leading to the quality of tutors of a high caliber.

We are incredibly impressed with our tutor, Serena.  She is a gifted and most dedicated teacher.  Her ability to extend our daughter has been remarkable and we are thrilled to have her continue with Miki.  Thanks for a wonderful program.

Thankyou to Ezymath tutoring for building up the confidence my daughter needed in preparation for high school this year. During year 7 she was falling behind and her self confidence was waning, causing her to panic about high school but in the few short months she received one on one tutoring at home, her confidence grew and she learnt how to tackle new problems and ask for extra help when needed. Having the extra help, in the comfort of our own home was a winning combination. She is now more confident about what this year holds for her and is looking forward to new challenges, knowing she is better equipped to handle them. If needed down the track, we won't hesitate to start up more tutoring sessions again.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Lavington Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Springdale Heights Public School.
