Science Tutor Albury, NSW
I consider the best tutors to have a genuine passion for learning, which shines through when they are teaching others. I believe that this allows the tutor to engage with the student through honestly wanting to help and get the best out of them. It creates a positive and exciting environment when the student and tutor can both celebrate the wins…

I think regardless of outcomes and results, the biggest thing a tutor can do for a student is improve confidence in the given subject/s. The student should feel progress and improvement, and if the tutor cannot deliver these things then they are not doing their job effectively. I believe the tutor needs to communicate with the student effectively…

Science Tutor Thurgoona, NSW
Most importantly I need to be patient with them and ensure they feel comfortable and are understanding the concepts being taught. As a tutor I should also ensure students don't have any problems hindering their learning. I am a patient person that can work with the student. Furthermore, I am versatile in my ways of teaching to ensure the very…

Science Tutor Wodonga, VIC
I believe a tutor's job is to leave their student not with all the answers but with a clear understanding of the content. The best thing that a tutor can do is to improve a student's ability to learn and study independently, and this includes giving them an enthusiasm for the topic. However, a tutor is still a support and guide on subject material…

Inside North AlburyTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Jason practised perimeter and area of irregular shapes using squares and rectangles, and reviewed multiplication tables for 6–9.

In Year 8, Luka revised expanding and factorising polynomials with different degrees and worked through English poetry analysis by identifying techniques used.

For Year 10, Ella focused on cell biology topics such as unicellular vs multicellular organisms, cell structure and organelles, as well as diffusion and osmosis concepts with targeted multiple choice questions.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student in Maths repeatedly skipped writing full working for long division, as a tutor noted: "when the remainder was zero, she didn't show all four steps." This made it harder to pinpoint where calculation slips happened and slowed correction.

In Year 12 General Maths, there were gaps in revision routines—one student needed to revisit annuities and matrix applications but had not practiced these outside sessions.

For a Year 8 English task on essay structure, handwritten drafts were sometimes unclear, making feedback less effective. The absence of neat formatting left some ideas underdeveloped by the end of the session.

Recent Achievements

A North Albury tutor recently saw a Year 11 student shift from confusion to independence in algebra, as he began asking clarifying questions about his mistakes rather than guessing, showing a clear change from previous hesitation.

In another high school session, Sienna moved beyond initial uncertainty with cost functions and break-even analysis; by the end, she was confidently using matrix recursion relations to solve complex problems—a step up from earlier lessons.

Meanwhile, Maya in primary school tackled her 6 times tables with new determination, even choosing to work through extra practice in her Naplan book between sessions.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Everything going well at the moment, no issues and Michael is an extremely patient and competent tutor. Alex is enjoying the sessions and appears to be moving forward.

So far so good with Amelia - she has always been punctual, professional and friendly and Mila feels comfortable with her.

I decided to work  for Ezy Math Tutoring because it seemed very flexible and would fit in very well with my university schedule. At first, I was only expecting to learn a bit about being a good communicator and be able to engage people but it was a lot more than that. The real highlight for me was that no matter the ability of the child you are teaching, the minute that they start to improve and get better grades, that is THE best reward you can get. My biggest highlight was when one of my students who had just finished his HSC told me that he got a whole 20 marks higher than he was expecting at first for his Maths exam and he thanked me for my time. I recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to potential customers who want personalised help for their child and being assigned a tutor who cared as much as I did for my students to achieve their potential. As for potential tutors, this experience is so rewarding because you really do care for your students' progress and you develop skills that will help you for life.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Lavington Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Albury North Public School.
