Legal Studies Tutor Callaghan, NSW
A tutor can help create a safe environment for a child to voice their concerns with learning which they may feel unable to do in a class setting. Having one-on-one tutor sessions can also help a child to target exactly what they are struggling with. A tutor also has more time with that student to assess what they are good at in order to keep…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student are fostering a deep understanding of the subject, providing personalized guidance, boosting confidence, and encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My strengths as a tutor include vast knowledge on a wide range of topics, patience in explaining concepts, adapting to…

I believe an important component of tutoring is patience, ensuring that the student completely understands the topic before moving on. This leads into following up. Following up the previous session for a couple of minutes in the next lesson is highly beneficial as the student can show their understanding of the topic, allowing the opportunity to…

Richard is a lovely young man. Very patient and caring in his delivery of his tutoring. He has made my daughter feel better about her ability to problem solve her mathematics.

Inside GeorgetownTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Chloe reviewed algebraic techniques, including operations with indices and equations involving pronumerals on both sides, before tackling basic quadratic equations.

In Year 11, Erika practised questions on rates and ratios as well as bearings and trigonometry, then moved onto biology topics such as the male and female reproductive systems and the hormonal regulation of the menstrual cycle.

Meanwhile, Year 5 student Tyler worked through NAPLAN-style division and multiplication exercises alongside revision using Mathletics on the iPad.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student struggled to keep up with homework and independent study—notes were often undated, and only about an hour per week was spent revising. As one tutor put it, "he explained it was because of lack in knowledge to complete the questions," highlighting a cycle where missed practice deepened gaps in financial maths and trigonometry.

In Year 8, another student's workbook became disorganised over time, making it harder to review concepts or spot repeated errors.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 learner sometimes skipped homework entirely, saying she'd "give it a go next week"—leaving place value skills underdeveloped heading into new topics.

Recent Achievements

One Georgetown tutor recently noticed a big shift in a Year 12 student's approach to challenging maths problems: after struggling with question interpretation, he now underlines key data and circles verbs before solving, which means he's needing far less help and is getting through complex questions more independently.

Meanwhile, a high school student who previously left homework unfinished has started completing all assigned tasks and even attempts extra questions—demonstrating not just effort but genuine initiative.

In Year 8 science, another student showed new independence by identifying food chains in ecosystems without prompting and confidently explained how energy moves between organisms.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Charlie's tutor, Alex, was remarkable with Charlie and I cannot speak highly enough of him. He is doing a lot better in numeracy.

EzyMath tutoring is the ideal way to enter into the highly competitive field of personal tuition. Through their Continuing Education Program and extensive support I was able to greatly expand my capacity to educate students. I would highly recommend Ezymath to both new and more experienced tutors as a way of acquiring new clients, and the professional nature of the company ensures a cohesive match for all parties involved.

I've been working with Ezy Math Tutoring for the best part of 3 years and I can truly say it has been an honour to work with such a supportive and caring group of people. My students and their families have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I was making a difference. Ezy Math always made working with them a breeze, ensuring that my needs and the needs of my students were accommodated for. I have recommended Ezy Math to fellow tutors in the past and shall continue to do so in the future. I would like to thank Ezy Math for all their support over the years and I look forward to many more successful tutoring relationships.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mayfield Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Callaghan College Waratah Campus.
