Physics Tutor Callaghan, NSW
The most crucial aspects of tutoring involve building a supportive relationship with the student, providing thorough explanations for tasks, and ensuring comprehensive education. A friendly rapport fosters trust and effective communication, while clear explanations aid in understanding. Ultimately, the tutor's goal is to educate the student,…

Physics Tutor Birmingham Gardens, NSW
According to me, a physics tutor must collaborate with his students to set realistic goals for them in the short as well as long term. Apart from that, a tutor should definitely empower students with effective study methods, time management strategies, and organizational techniques as it encourages them to develop independence in their learning…

Physics Tutor North Lambton, NSW
The most important and dire activity a physics tutor can do for his/her student is to give all the 'tools' to not only pass but excel in their selected and even not selected subject. This give the students tips and tricks that cross all boundaries, in reference to studies, and allows them to apply it whenever they desire. Being able to mould and…

Emily’s first tutoring session with Alexander went really well. He was so good with Emily on breaking things down we are very happy to continue.

Inside NewcastleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Chloe focused on division and multiplication facts through timed tests and real-life examples.

For Year 9, James worked through financial maths topics like depreciation and shares, then practiced applying simple and compound interest formulas to worded problems.

In Year 10, Emily concentrated on quadratic equations by breaking down the quadratic formula and completing the square using step-by-step methods for exam preparation.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 financial maths, one student relied heavily on plugging numbers into formulas without understanding the reasoning, which made worded questions and real-world application challenging—she is too reliant on putting numbers into a given formula.

In Year 8 algebra, another struggled to recall prior concepts and avoided abstract problems; when faced with unfamiliar structures, confidence dropped and "lazy thinking" set in.

Meanwhile, a Year 10 student's working out remained messy and disorganized during tests, leading to lost marks despite knowing the process. This often resulted in frustration or second-guessing answers instead of learning from mistakes.

Recent Achievements

One Newcastle tutor recently noticed Danika come prepared with specific questions from her classwork—something she hadn't done before—and then work through most problems independently, only needing minimal help.

In another session, Liz demonstrated much more initiative by teaching her tutor tricky z-score problems after initially doubting herself; this shift from hesitance to explaining concepts out loud is a big step up.

Meanwhile, Lara in Year 7 has started tackling unfamiliar exam-style geometry questions without giving up and now actively asks for clarification instead of waiting passively.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I am very happy with Fiona, and though we are only in the early stages of tutoring, Alyssa has made significant improvements in her attitude and confidence. Initially she was dreading tutoring, now she has embraced it. Fiona has been extremely flexible and has impressed with her professionalism and knowledge from day one. We look forward to continued success under her tuition.

Rhett has been by a couple of times now and has been extremely professional, with a very standard of teaching.  As you know, we had worries that Abbey was going to fail the last SAC of the term. However, after spending two sessions with Rhett, I am pleased to say she came home with a B.  She is enjoying her sessions and is getting a lot out of them.

I came to work with Ezymath because it looked like a reputable company and I was interested in tutoring maths. I feel overall like my time with my students has been a great improvement in their learning ability and my teaching ability. Ezymath was good to work with and also accommodating, I would recommend Ezymath to both other tutors and prospective clients.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Newcastle Region Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Newcastle Grammar Bolton Street Campus.
