I think ultimately as a tutor the most important thing is developing kids confidence, In math for example, problems can seem very complicated and overwhelming and it isn't just enough showing students how to solve them but giving them the tools to approach all problems and break them down and I think In doing that difficult problems become much…
The most important thing a student can get from a tutor is unconditional support, and students should be assured that they have the right to ask their tutors any questions they may have. Good interacting skills and the way i adapt to every kid is what I consider as my strength.
As every individual is different, patience is very much important and…
Understand the student's goals. Put themselves in the student's position and understand their abilities, then tailor the methods/techniques accordingly. Hopefully encourage an interest in the subject so that they want to learn more. I am highly articulate when explaining my thought processes. I like to break things down into smaller, more easily…
It's important to be understanding, to listen to what a student (or parent) wants to get out of tutoring, and to focus on the student's goals. It's also important to be clear in your teaching, and to come up with creative and interesting ways to teach each student, as every student is different. I have a very enthusiastic and positive approach to…
Again, if you can relate to your students you will have an easier time understanding what problems they're having, and adapting your style. This along with open communication and non-judgement. Being empathetic with students struggles. Trying to figure out the students learning style and tailor my teaching to…
A student may have several factors which obtrude in their academic progress: be it a lack of motivation, confidence, understanding, time, support, etc. An ideal tutor will exemplify virtues in all these areas, and offer insight to a student to shore up any component they may be lacking. I would suggest that there is no singularly important…
I the the most important thing a tutor can do for their student is make their lessons fun and engaging. If we are being completely honest, most kids don't like math, so creating a lesson plan where it's not just learning, but enjoying the learning process will encourage the child to continue putting effort into math.
I believe it is also just…
Being patient with the student, having a kind nature and allowing the student to ask questions. Also establishing a safe space where the student feels comfortable enough to ask questions about their learning and set goals for their studies. My strength would be scaffolding the learning for students and breaking down questions into small steps to…
The most important thing a tutor or any teacher can do, I think, would be to instill confidence in the students own ability to do deal with the task given, whatever that task may entail. I think the way I explain and teach is very beneficial specifically in a one on one setting. I've always found it harder to teach to many people because not…
I think the most important thing is not just giving a student a surface level understanding of how to solve a problem. If you help them understand the core fundamentals, maths becomes so much easier.
Another key thing is giving each student a tailored experience to their level. We don't want to overwhelm them. I am very good at breaking down…
Every student learns at a different rate. Therefore, I believe the most important thing I can do for a student is to develop definite and positive changes in a student's understanding and grades over time, no matter the magnitude of the change. In order to not destroy the student's motivation to learning, the tutor must be supportive and nurturing…
Help kids and teenagers become independent in learning their work and problems with chosen subjects. Have kids confident to go into tests and upload assessments with no worries about their abilities. I am outgoing, understanding, kind, and patient when it comes to helping kids. I volunteered with Girl Guides for years as a junior leader…
The most important thing I feel is to instill confidence in the student. A confident mindset to problem solving in any discipline is as important as the knowledge. A lack of confidence will not lead to problem solving and outside the box thinking, so combining core knowledge with confidence in themselves is important. I feel that I can communicate…
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is be supportive in helping students reach their full potential. Whether this be through going over difficult concepts, assisting in methods of memorisation and retaining information, or providing effective study techniques, it is the role of a tutor to support their students in areas needed.…
Increase their confidence, reduce any anxiety they have about maths
Provide new and interesting ways of solving problems
Helping them relate what they're doing to the real world (for example, even if it is not something they will be doing in the future, learning how to reason and problem solve will always be valuable to them)
Cater to different…
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is be patient, stay calm at all times and try new ways to explain the work if they don’t understand. My strengths are that I can break the work down enough so that anyone can understand. I’m a very patient person so the students will never feel pressured or stressed. I’m also…
I believe a student can be guided to produce his/her best abilities. A tutor has the role of presenting an environment for exploration, discovery, guide learner in making observations and drawing conclusions, while assessing their ability to solve problems. My strength includes the following:
mastery of the math concepts
Good communication…
Laura has definitely gotten Diana to a great start. She eagerly anticipates her tutoring and is seeming to take more interest in Maths especially in the strands that she did not feel very confident about.
Diana has told me that Laura's explanations are easily understood and is simplified which makes it easy to remember. She also explains various strategies that can be used for problem solving which is good for time management when attempting to solve problems in class. Diana is able to use the notes taken during tutoring in class which is assisting with her understanding of the relevant strand or concept.
Things are going really well. Emily is a lovely young woman who has engaged well with my daughter. Tia feels comfortable with her and is learning new skills. It is great.
Thanks once again for such wonderful service and professionalism. It is such a change to receive follow up and genuine interest in the service provided . Your company is to be commended!!
We asked for assistance on a short term basis to help with some exam preparation. Our tutor was quickly able to assess our daughter's capability and provide practical assistance with problem solving and techniques.
Most importantly the tutor instilled real confidence in our daughter's ability, offering encouragement, support and reinforcement all the way. We would not hesitate to contact Ezy Math for our future needs.
