Science Tutor Long Jetty, NSW
By first giving the student the necessary skills to complete a range of questions this equips them with the tools to complete any question. I then allow the student to make the mistake first and learn from it by helping them change what they did. This is then followed up with an example response to a question then the student is given the chance…

The most important thing a tutor can do is give a student the confidence to continue to achieve and learn for themselves. If they can believe in themselves and keep working, they will succeed regardless of their level. I am personable and easy-going, able to meet the student where they need to be met. I have a genuine passion for mathematics and…

A tutor should be patient and friendly to re-discuss any topic number of times to make their students understand until they don`t feel to move to the next topic, a tutor should be a good leader who can motivate students in the right direction. I create a friendly atmosphere where students feel free to discuss their doubts without any hesitation, I…

I think that as a tutor you must listen to what your student needs and give that to them. Each student will learn differently so it is extremely important that as a tutor you tailor your teaching approach to that student and their needs in order for them to learn best. As I just left school in 2021 I have a good understanding of the pressures and…

I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is be encouraging and understanding. As a student it can be hard and that is the reason you are getting tutoring. So to have someone encourage you can be a great reason to keep learning. I think my strengths as a tutor would be my patience and communication skills, as they are…

Inside The EntranceTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 student Nathan focused on mastering coordinate geometry, including working through problem sets involving distance and midpoint formulas, and explored key concepts in trigonometry.

Year 10 student Lily revised chemistry topics such as limiting and excess reagents alongside practice with wave properties in physics, tackling these using targeted questions and simple diagrams.

Meanwhile, Year 9 student James strengthened his skills with probability calculations in mathematics and worked through foundational equilibrium problems in chemistry, applying each to real-world scenarios for context.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 Physics, one student's answers were described as "way too extensive"—work became hard to revise because points were buried in lengthy explanations.

When faced with unfamiliar questions in Year 8 Maths, another lost focus under time pressure and missed steps that checking could have caught.

In Year 4 English, motivation flagged when reading non-fiction aloud; a tutor noted rushed spelling and frequent confusion between words like "his" and "this."

Without clearer phrasing or neater layout, moments of understanding often slipped by unnoticed—especially when anxiety or perfectionism set in during trickier tasks.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in The Entrance recently saw Mohit, a Year 11 student, move from quietly listening to actively asking questions whenever he felt unsure in physics and chemistry—something he'd hesitated to do before.

In Year 7, Amari had struggled with timetables last term but now quickly recalls his 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s without prompting and even started explaining them back in his own words.

Meanwhile, Charlie in Year 3 was once reluctant to tackle more challenging level 5 stories but this week chose to read aloud after enjoying a session built around chess-themed reading games.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We have been very happy with Ameya , he has been well prepared, punctual and very committed to his work with Emma... I would happily recommend both Ezy Math tutoring and Ameya to people.

Shannon is delighted with Daniel and I can already see measurable results. She appears more confident.  We are more than happy to continue with him. I just need to work out  which plan to choose. When do I need to decide this?

Jason is a very nice young man who is always prompt and seems well prepared for each lesson. Charles  enjoys his tutoring so far and seems to be gaining a little more confidence.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as The Entrance Library & Council Services—or at your child's school (with permission), like The Entrance Public School.
