What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Being of aid to people who are struggling with school. I know from firsthand experience that being in high school is hard and that I often wished someone would help me (since teachers at school can provide only part of the feedback they are allowed to),. I like reading what students come up with in English subjects, and sometimes even learning new vocabulary/philosophical concepts (depends on what they are writing about) from them too. It is very rewarding to give that feedback, to see that in the next lesson when they bring back their essay it is better than before.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I provide a digital copy of the notes made throughout the lesson to the student's email so they can have it handy to fix their work. I also make sure to let the student know that they can join in on any part of discussion at any point (when I am explaining or going through my feedback) so that we can both develop an understanding of where our thought processes came from. I also ask that the student brings up questions if they are confused, since letting them know they can be open with me about their troubles means I can help them more.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Using the limited amount of time to help the student as much as possible. I believe that also have some time before a session to understand what they are in particular struggling with, so that I can understand their point of view / thought process helps me to use strategies that they would understand/know how to apply to their work to improve.
