According to me, the most important thing a teacher can do for a student is to provide a friendly and fun loving environment so that the student does not have a load on his head for studies and can learn easily and can understand the concepts clearly. Flexibility and Patience are the two strengths of mine. I adjust myself to the different learning…

Paying attention on them. A student sometimes have fear and won't ask their doubts. As tutors we must pay attention to them and see what they need. If not the students won't achieve their goals. I am organized, have a good memory and I plan all the lessons with anticipation. My experience have taught me that the student depends on how prepared you…

I believe the most important thing a maths tutor can do for a student is be empathetic to the experience of a student, especially as a young person. Having been a recent graduate, I understand the pressures, stress and desires surrounding ones education and the want to improve and evolve as a learner. Therefore, being empathetic allows a tutor to…

Be understanding. We are all part of the learning process, both the student and the tutor. Respect the student and respect the tutor. I like to teach 1-on-1 simply because I can try and personalize the manner in which I teach the student, to help them understand concepts in their own way. Additionally, I believe that I am quite emotionally…

Student's improvement. I would like to raise the student's attitude toward the subject by , for example, giving them the applications and examples of the theories. The main priority of a maths tutor is ensuring the student understands the subject so this is what they should aim to achieve in any way possible. A tutor should be the extra level of assistance when the student needs them. Ultimately, tutors should motivate students to learn and be enthusiastic about learning, which is the most important aspect…

Tutors fill a different role than teachers and parents, and that puts them in a unique position to support students. Personal relationships are foundational to student success -- the more connected a student feels to his tutor, the more the tutor creates trust and respect, essential ingredients for students to learn well. The team at EzyMath tutoring are great. From the initial on-boarding to account queriers through to additional resources they have been prompt, proactive and really helpful - going above and beyond rather than just providing the basic answer. Linh, out tutor is fabulous, she is patient and knowledgeable and has provided my son with some new strategies and ways to approach his work. He's even finding himself enjoying maths and his confidence is building. I would highly recommend the team at EzyMath

Inside Ascot ValeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 12 Will consolidated understanding of integration, focusing on finding areas between curves and definite integrals, then tackled probability concepts such as discrete random variables, expected value, and standard deviation.

For Year 12 Thanh, lessons centred on interpreting IR spectra and mass spectrometry results, alongside volumetric analysis techniques like identifying titrants and equivalence points.

Meanwhile, Year 11 Emma reviewed galvanic cells by comparing primary and secondary types and practiced explaining the limitations of electrochemical series in exam-style questions.

Recent Challenges

In Year 12 Maths Methods, Will often left classwork and chapter questions incomplete, which slowed his ability to master new concepts—one tutor noted, "Will was fairly behind his work and needed to catch up in maths."

During SACs and practice exams, inconsistent time management meant several questions were left unanswered or only partially attempted, costing valuable marks.

In Chemistry (Year 11), there was a tendency to re-ask previously answered questions without reviewing feedback, leading to repeated confusion on core ideas like titrations; as one session highlighted, "Thanh asked a few of the same questions that she asked last week."

Recent Achievements

One Ascot Vale tutor noticed a significant shift in Will, a senior student who now comes to sessions with specific questions prepared and has started tackling exam-style problems independently—something he hesitated to do before.

Another high school student, Thanh, recently brought along a set of self-identified weak points and was able to answer complex chemistry questions by linking new content to previous lessons, showing much more initiative than earlier in the term.

Meanwhile, Alice, in Year 8 science, managed to quickly apply tricky nomenclature rules for branched alkanes after initially struggling with the topic. This shows rapid mastery of concepts.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Marnus really enjoys Kamran's help and encouragement. They were preparing for his test on Thursday and I hope to get a positive test result because of that. I appreciate my son's positive response to Kamran and his tutoring.

We have had 2 Tutoring lessons with Ishita so far and we are very happy. Ishita is a delightful and intelligent young woman and Emily and I felt comfortable the minute we met her. She is quite an effective tutor and we look forward to get continuing her tutoring of Emily. Thank you for your support.

My Granddaughter, Ava, is very comfortable & happy with her tutor, Mihika. Also, myself & Avas Mother are happy with Mihikas cheerful, pleasant manner & punctuality. I will be continuing the tutor lessons as we're very happy with Mihika & some improvement with Ava so far.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Ascot Vale Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Ascot Vale Primary School.
