Allow them to reach their goals, and to lead them to overall success in other parts of education/life. I think the most important thing is to be encouraging and make sure they know how much you believe in them. I think that once you believe you can you are basically halfway there I'm kind and incredibly patient! I was also a very visual learner so didn't quite get the approach most teachers took at school. Particularly year 11 and 12 I had to find…

My main priority as an english tutor has always been to develop a love, or at least form of passion, from the student regarding whatever I teach. From first hand experience I know that it is almost impossible to truly devote effort and time into a subject you can't stand. Thus, I believe a tutor must help provide a path for more effective learning…

Tutors can be a reason to guide the students in the right direction. Sometimes, a student might need a tiny little nudge to get them on track and tutors can be or are the right persons for that. Inside Black RockTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 Isabel practised times tables and division with remainders, then worked on reading comprehension using short stories.

For Year 9 Jack, sessions focused on simplifying and expanding algebraic expressions as well as working with like terms in algebra.

Meanwhile, Year 10 Mia tackled solving linear equations using a CAS calculator and revised geometric sequences and arithmetic sequences through chapter exercises.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student preparing for exams left most revision until the week before, which limited time for deep practice and meant she "needed to work on more questions prior to the test."

For a Year 8 student, working mainly on easier exercise numbers was noted: "try completing one or two of the difficult questions... much more effective than just the lower numbered exercises."

In Year 6 maths, messy written calculations sometimes made it hard to find errors; as observed, "needs to lay out his steps on paper." These habits led to last-minute stress and hidden mistakes during assessments.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Black Rock noticed Isabel, a Year 9 student, has begun to check her answers independently using the textbook and corrects her own mistakes—a big shift from relying on step-by-step guidance earlier this term.

In Year 11 maths, Grace started preparing questions ahead of each session and now confidently tackles financial maths problems she once found confusing.

Meanwhile, Gisele in Year 3 recently managed to read aloud for an extended period without hesitation and even remembered to pause at commas—something she struggled with before.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Oscar is finding the tutoring very helpful in realizing he is able to "do maths". He is feeling a lot more positive in general at this time and we hope that the gradual improvement he makes will continue to provide a source of self belief and positive thinking. He is very comfortable working with Kirsty and is keen to continue with her.

I initially chose to work for EzyMath tutoring so that I could earn some extra money while attending university. The company most appealed to me with its flexible hours, and a clear idea of letting the tutor be in control of his own work. You could work as many hours as you wanted, and truly develop a personal relationship with your clients. The weekly modules provided by EzyMath ensured that I myself developed and learned along the way. For me, the greatest accomplishment was the transition into a fully coordinated and confident tutor in a manner of weeks. EzyMath truly turned me into a successful tutor who had a great relationship with his students. It was especially amazing to see that the people I taught were even a little upset when I could no longer continue working. Overall, I definitely recommend working for the company to any people who want to mature into successful tutors. Any parents who want their children to learn in a friendly yet structured environment; as well as working with someone who they can truly rely on should definitely contact EzyMath tutoring! I'm very grateful for this experience and all you help. Good luck to the company for all of its future endeavours.

Things are going well. No issues and Jacob is going into class with more confidence.

English tutoring in Black Rock

Unfortunately not every school teacher is a good match for every student. Often the student might develop the sense that they are not smart because they don't understand their teacher's approach, but often it's just a bad match. No teacher is a perfect teacher for every single student, especially students who might need a tailored approach. A private English tutor can help.

It's truly incredible the way in which one explanation creates that "aha" moment whereas another creates confusion. Our service is all about finding you the "right" tutor, not the "best" tutor. A local Black Rock English tutor will not only connect well with your child but they will be able to offer explanations in such a manner that your child just "gets it". This is what we do.

English Tutor Black Rock

Our offer is quite simple. We will find you an English tutor in Black Rock. They will come to your home at a time of your choosing. They will come as often or as little as you decide. They will tailor the lessons to your child's specific needs. Best of all, if you think the tutor is not the "right" fit, we'll organise another tutor free of charge.

We want you to be a raving fan of your tutor. That's our Good-Fit guarantee.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Beaumaris Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Black Rock Primary School.
